Bus enthusiasts - please consider donating to a worthy cause.
The good folks at Wigan Bus Preservation Group are one of the 'professional' preservation groups who enjoy good relations with many operators and industry bodies.
We are indirectly responsible for them giving 4515 a 100% authentic makeover (due to selling them 22878 which freed up 4515) so hopefully people can get behind this appeal
It’s been a while since 4515 was shown, so here’s where we currently are with her.
As some may remember, en-route to Southport a few months back, the front offside brake caliper started to bind, rendering her VOR for the remainder of her MOT. Part of the incentive to buy 812, was to use the caliper off that on 4515, of which it’s been moved into place for the work to start. In preparation for her MOT, she’s going to get most of the work done to her what is needed, this includes:
- a full service, oil change and filters etc.
- a chassis tidy up where surface corrosion is
starting to rear its ugly head, and the wheel arches too.
- the pipe that runs under the ping tank isn’t great, so that will be changed.
- the headlights need re-adjusting after the front end rebuild.
- rear and side roll blind destinations fitted.
- replace the LED rear lights with Britax, and source fibreglass domes to refit the original top back lights.
(If anyone knows of a good fibreglass mould maker, please let us know).
- readjust the exhaust as it’s currently sticking out way too far.
We have also been building up our collection of Arriva ‘Bridge’ moquette, to get the interior retrimmed. As you may know, retrimming is extremely expensive, and a lot of you have asked for a donation link at events. We have never deemed it appropriate as we’ve always wanted you to know where your money is going, so we’re going to offer it out, if you’d like to contribute to an interior refurb of 4515, please follow the link below. 👇

Please do not feel obliged to donate, it’s entirely optional, but anything, small or large, will help us massively. 100% of donations will go towards the retrim of 4515. Please note: PayPal will take a small transaction fee off the donation.
