It’s been a fantastic start to the week at Lewis Training School.

2 tests. 2 passes.

First up was Emma Gibson, who gave us one of those truly special moments yesterday. The tears of joy when she heard she had passed were absolutely priceless — and to top it off, she received some fantastic praise from the examiner.

Then we had Stephen Catchpole, who was unlucky on his first test. We identified where things went wrong, put it right, and he came back stronger than ever to achieve a fantastic pass with just 2 minors!

We’ll continue to keep our standards high at Lewis Training School and work hard to give every single one of our students the best information, guidance and training possible.

Well, that’s July wrapped up for Lewis Training School!

We’ve finished the month with another two successful courses and two passes with flying colours!

This morning we were at Atherton, where Johnathan Elms successfully passed his Class 2 to Class 1 test with an absolutely awesome drive.

Then this afternoon, we headed over to Liverpool, where James Cox completed his Class 1 course and put in a great drive to secure another well-deserved pass. 👌

July Results 📊

It’s been another fantastic month overall:

✅ 83% pass rate on our Class 1 courses
✅ 100% pass rate on our Class 2 courses

A brilliant effort from everyone who has trained with us this month. We’re incredibly proud of all our students and the hard work they’ve put in.

Now it’s time for a few well-earned days off with the family to recharge before what looks set to be a very busy August!

It’s been a great start to the week at Lewis Training School

We had two guys on a retest today. Last time out, nerves got the better of them. So this time we worked on correcting the small mistakes they made in their previous test and had a good chat to build their confidence.

And boom… two passes! ✅✅

Both of these guys are looking to move on from their current jobs, and now they’ve got the opportunity to do exactly that.

This is why I love my job. Helping people achieve their goals. When my students pass, I’m over the moon. And when they fail… I go home and sulk.

But today is definitely a happy day. 😁👏

Thinking about gaining your HGV licence? Here’s what you need to do:
1. Have a medical and apply for your provisional licence.
2. Book and pass your theory and hazard perception tests.
3. Complete the driving course.
4. Take the CPC case studies (computer-based) test.
5. Final step is the Module 4 test – a practical show me, tell me assessment.

Some people have different opinions about the computer-based tests. You can do all three computer tests at once, but personally I find that a bit too much.

So, if you’re thinking about a career change and want to get into HGV driving, it’s best to get started sooner rather than later.

I’m currently booked up until the beginning of March, so if you want to get everything sorted, you’ll need to get the wheels turning now 🚛
