🌿 Supporting local communities through our Pathways Fund 🌿

We're delighted to have supported a footpath restoration at Kirkby Malham Church, a much-loved local landmark just a short distance from our Yorkshire Dales Country House, Newfield Hall.

Before the work began, we met Rev Sue and local contractor David to learn about plans to restore the churchyard paths. Following completion, our Assistant House Manager Jake returned to see the results, and the difference is clear. Thanks to a grant of almost £3,500, this much-loved spot is now safer and more accessible for all.

The church also offers a warm welcome to HF Holidays members and guests, making this support a meaningful way to give back to a community that has long supported our walkers.

A huge thank you to our Field Advisor, Linda, for recommending the project. 💚

We're proud to be supporting West Mercia Search & Rescue with a £5,000 grant and a new operational parking base at our HF Country House, Longmynd Hotel in Church Stretton.

The funding, awarded through our Pathways Fund, will help equip a dedicated rescue vehicle based in the Shropshire Hills, allowing volunteers to reach incidents more quickly and provide vital support to those who need it.

A huge thank you to their volunteers for the incredible work they do and to our members and guests for supporting our Pathways Fund.

We're proud to play a small part in supporting their efforts and helping more people enjoy walking in the beautiful Shropshire countryside, with peace of mind.

If you are familiar with HF Holidays, you may have noticed that we have recently expanded our walking grade scale from 6-points to 10-points to help you choose a holiday that best suits your fitness, walking experience and personal preferences.

While the holidays themselves have not changed - the routes, daily distances and ascent levels remain the same - our newly expanded 1-10 scale offers greater distinction between our wide choice of holidays with clearer grade descriptions.

We have walking itineraries to suit a wide range of abilities, from gentle strolls to challenging hikes, with walking grades grouped into three colour-coded categories:

🥾 Gentle Walking: Grades 1-4
🥾 Moderate Walking: Grades 5-7
🥾 Challenge Walking: Grades 8-10

Each walking holiday on our website shows the walking grade(s), with detailed daily distance and ascent information included in the itinerary section. If you are unsure which grade is most suitable, please get in touch, and we will be happy to help.

Read more about our walking grades at www.hfholidays.co.uk/walking-grades.

If you have an upcoming booking, you do not need to take any action. If there are any changes to your holiday itinerary, we will contact you directly.

☀️ What a day in the Scottish Highlands!

A group of intrepid HF Holidays guests enjoyed glorious weather in Glencoe a couple of weeks ago as they tackled Bidean nam Bian and Stob Coire Sgreamhach on one of our Scottish Highlands guided walking holidays.

For wonderful 360-degree views, the mountains above Glencoe are hard to beat - what a view!

Thank you to HF Leader Tom for sending these photos in. We love sharing the brilliant achievements of our guests and members. Well done all! ⛰️
