Happy Yorkshire Day from the top of Yorkshire! 🥾

Thank you to HF Leader Nigel for sharing this photo of his group who made it to the summit of Whernside, the highest of the Yorkshire Three Peaks, during a Classic Guided Walking holiday from Thorns Hall, Sedbergh.

The sunshine through the clouds in this photo looks idyllic... but moments later, the group was caught in a violent hailstorm. The twists and turns of walking in the British countryside!

Where are all the butterflies? 🦋

If you love seeing the beautiful sight of butterflies on a summer's day, you can take part in the Big Butterfly Count this summer.

Butterflies are an important indicator of the health of our environment. Sadly, many species are in decline, and that's why Butterfly Conservation's Big Butterfly Count is so important.

From 17 July to 9 August, you can play a part in one of the UK's biggest citizen science projects. All it takes is 15 minutes of your time to count the butterflies and day-flying moths you see.

- Why not include a butterfly-spotting moment on your next walk? It's a great way to connect with nature while contributing to a national conservation project.

💡 Fun Butterfly Fact: Butterflies taste with their feet! When they land on a flower or leaf, special sensors on their feet help them work out whether it's a good place to feed or lay eggs. 🦋
