Good evening one and all , another busy weekend here , a good few deliveries done for Cherry Red Flowers as it was Mother’s Day , then onto finish the little chaps bike and get that back to him , quite a host of other general workshop bits and pieces and a roof rack fitted on the van as it’s nearly trading time at a good few shows this year and we will need the extra space a rack can give us , before I locked the doors I managed to get started on one of the signs for the back of the van ! Good evening all , a bit of a busy one for us this weekend , starting with an early trip to the wholesale followed by a large palleted delivery of stock both for Cherry Red ( Old Crockers sister company owned by the wife ) . Then we had a full service along with new tyres , tubes and grip tape on the road bike and made a good start on a little fellows bike that he’s desperate for in time for summer but sadly has been left out in the elements so is rather rusty and seized , nothing we can’t deal with though , while we were at it we squeezed the painting of not one but two mirror caps for customers cars , all in a weekend work ! Before you ask , coffee , yes lots 😁🚴☕️

Good morning all , after what seems like an eternity of making our new signs they are finally on the van , as you can guess it’s our two companies sharing the same van and for those of you of a certain vintage for this reason the van has been nicknamed Mojo ! Still have two for the back and one for the front to finish but it definitely feels like progress , and as always just being in the workshop on my own with coffee and rock n roll is never a chore! Have a lovely weekend whatever that may be 🚴 🌹 💀

Happy new year to you all , busy morning in a somewhat chilly workshop but it’s business as usual here at Old Crockers, here we have a bicycle used for commuting so is out in all weathers . Picked it up with a broken chain , a broken front shifter and general seizure of bearings and brakes , I got cracking , rebuild of bearings and brakes to begin with , replaced the shifter along with replacement of all cables then cleaned and inspected the broken chain and replaced the link , set everything up again and gave it a general going over , back to my customer tomorrow so she can get to work again , not sure she’ll be happy about that but at least the bicycle is ready to go!
Next up is a complete rebuild of a rather neglected Specialized road bike so best refill the kettle , watch this space 🚴

Another bicycle about to be dropped back , a lovely GT roadie that suffered a broken spoke and consequently a very buckled wheel so had the spoke replaced , wheel trued , a quick fettle and some fresh handlebar tape , now off to hit the road again 🚴

From a top end Ribble to Jasmine , once upon a time Jasmine would have been the reason behind a beaming smile one birthday or Christmas morning , then tossed on the scrap heap ! Now having had a thorough going over Jasmine is now going to a new home where , once again , she will be the reason behind a beaming smile . This one is leaving me free of charge as knowing a little girl will have adventures on her bike is payment a plenty 🚴

One of a few in this week , this lovely Ribble had a slight argument with the road so needed a bit of a going over but all done now , rides like a dream and along with a new pair of tyres it’s now going to be dropped back to its owner for many more miles , hopefully upright but that bit isn’t down to me 🚴

Happy Friday!! Settling in well at my new job and enjoying the extra time it has given us so we have finally put a long term idea into action. My creative side can stay locked up no more and we cant let the many years of experience go to waste! so as some of you may have noticed from the changes to our old shop page 🤭 - Cherry Red Flowers has now been born!! We can now cater as event florists Weddings, parties and the like. Currently taking enquires and bookings. FREE to a good home , here we have a cool little boys bike with 16” wheels , it came to me rotten and seized so has had a complete strip and rebuild and is now fully rideable ! This is one of quite a few childrens bikes that will be offered ready to ride for free , when I think back to my younger years of how much pleasure my bike brought me and how much pleasure their bikes bring the little people in my life I hate the thought of children going without bikes so if this helps I will be a happy chap , so , if you know of any kid that deserves a bike or any schools or nurseries that may benefit then this one is ready to roll and there will be more to follow so keep a look out .🚵🏼
