Exercise your right to garden during

Are you local to ? Come join us every Saturday as we turn the trackside space into an urban oasis for all to enjoy.

Volunteering outdoors is still allowed with the latest restrictions and this is a great way to combat the isolation of lockdown by coming together with your neighbours 🌈DM for more details, we hope to see you out there!

☀️☀️On Thursday we got stuck into a much needed refresh of the planters at Overground Station and the sun was shining for it ☀️☀️

The community group came together, along with some new faces from to add some more colour to the station. We even managed to add a plum tree to the orchard that had outgrown it's planter 🌳

We revived the planters and added some beautiful plants. Salvia, jasmine, clematis and so many more, it's going to be smelling good!

Keep an eye out for some plums and apples next year. Projects like this wouldn't be possible without the hard work from all our volunteers! Keep an eye out for the next event, give us a DM and get involved 🐝

Who’s ready to ?? 👩‍🌾

We have a great afternoon planned for Sunday at . There’s lots of veg to collect for home cooking and loads of bulbs to plant for spring.

There will also be tasty treats prepared by Energy Garden community members, music in the open air and goody bags with seeds, bulbs and Energy Garden Ale inside 💫

A planter installing, dirt hauling good time at Station with the ladies of Enfield Get Growing. 🌞☁️🌧🌞rain & shine, it was the perfect day to bring a splash of green to this grey platform.

6 planters are now supporting jasmine, honeysuckle, herbs, pansies and spring bulbs.

Two of the group teach locally and the plan is to use these planters as an educational tool for schoolchildren in the coming years.

And there’s more to come from this crew! Take a look at their excellent work if you ever find yourself at the end of the line 🙋‍♀️

Changing seasons and stations at Energy Garden 🐛

We are harvesting the goods of summer and prepping for a big winter sowing drive across all the gardens 🍂Now is a great time to get involved! Here are some ways to take part:

⭐️Join a gardening day at your local station. We just received hundreds of bulbs which are eager to be buried in preparation for a Spring bloom.
🌷

⭐️Get your hands on a goody bag. We’ll provide you with some seeds to propagate on your windowsill or in a home garden. These can be transplanted into your local station garden alongside your neighbours early spring 2021.

⭐️Join us at the Harvest Party at station a Sunday, 18 October from 14:00-17:00 to meet other members of the Energy Garden network, and exchange winter growing ideas!

Join us at Sunday, 18 October from 14:00-17:00 for a -safe community harvest. 🦔 We will be picking the summer's bounty before planting bulbs and winter veg for the season ahead.

Here's a quick preview of what’s waiting to be plucked: Jerusalem artichokes, kale, tomatoes, beans, corn, courgettes, herbs, apples and so much more. 🌽🥒🍅

🌱🌱You can also get your hands on a goody bag with seeds, bulbs and plantlings to take home and plant in preparation for the campaign. 🌱🌱

Since I was very young I have been coming to Adventure Playground. There has always been a variety of activities from gardening to cooking on the fire and arts and crafts.

The place started off as nothing much more than a dull patch of grass and over the years it has grown into a place for children to express themselves in an environment that is safe, colourful and filled with mother nature’s touch 💫

Reflecting on a summer full of gardening and solar power with our youth trainees

It has been a privilege to work alongside such an inspirational group of young people- there is no doubt in our mind they will be leading change from the ground up in our communities.

🔆Highlights from a busy August at Energy Garden🔆

Crops are fruiting and flowers are blooming on Overground stations across London, including some impressive multi-headed sunflowers at and 🌻 🌻

We finally connected with in a big way!

🥵The August heatwave meant we needed all hands on deck to water and this amazing community came out in force.

🌾 They helped keep the plants happy and healthy at seven stations, including Hackney Downs, Stoke Newington, Rectory Road, Clapton, Canonbury, Brondesbury Park and West Croydon.

Yesterday, they capped this off by helping us move 5 tons ‼️of compost from street level down to the trackside gardens at Brondesbury Park. That was a first in Energy Garden history.

They cycle and run between the stations then heave water up and down stairs, always with the brightest smiles 💫
