बेलायतको ‘ब्रिटिश संग्रहालय’मा धेरै सभ्यताका देवताहरु एकै ठाउँमा हेर्ने मौका मिल्यो. त्यहाँ देवताहरु सर्वशक्तिमान भगवान नभएर ओलम्पिकमा मेडल थाप्न बसेका विभिन्न देशका खेलाडी झैँ देखिये. त्यहाँ हिन्दुका महादेव, कृष्ण, गणेश थिए; ग्रीसका जिउस र एपोलो थिए , चिनी झाओ जियान थिए, मध्य पुर्वका जिसश थिए.
हामीले जीवन भरी पुजेका भगवानहरु र प्राय हराइसकेका सभ्यताका भगवानहरु संग-संगै बसेको देख्दा केहि मिस्रित भावनाहरु मनमा आउंदारहेछन् - के हाम्रा भगवानहरु पनि समयसंगै परिवर्तन हुदैँ त जादैनन्? हजारौं बर्ष अघि लाखौंबाट पुजीएका भगवानहरु अब इतिहासका पानामा सिमित भएका छन् भने, के अहिलेको लोकमा प्रचलित भगवानहरु चाही सुरक्षित छन् त?
तर यी भन्दा पनि सायद महत्वपुर्ण प्रश्न, के हाम्रो आस्था चाहिँ सही, र तत्कालिन ग्रीक- इजिप्शियनहरुको आस्था चाहिँ गलत थियो त? प्राय मानिसहरुले आफु जन्मेको धर्म नै जीवनमा अंगालेको देखिन्छ. तर के त्यो जीवनको सबैभन्दा ठुलो जुवा होइन र? कल्पना गर्नुस्, जीवनभर पूजेको इश्वर काल्पनिक रहेछन भने, मरे पछि के गर्ने? कि त ग्रीकका लोप भइसकेका भगवान् सहि हुन्, कि त हिन्दुले पुज्ने समुन्द्रमा शेष नाघको बिछ्यौना बनाउने बिष्णु सही हुन्, कि त मरेर फेरी फर्केकाका भगवानका छोरा यशु ठिक हुन्, कि त गुफामा भगवानका दुतबाट ज्ञान प्राप्त गर्ने मोहमद ठिक हुन्. अथवा उलेक्खित सबै व्यक्तित्व लोककथाका पात्र मात्र हुन्। आफुले मानेको भगवाननै सहि रहेछन भने त ठिकै होला, होइन भने चाहिँ जीवन पछि अर्को धर्मको भगवानलाई कसरी मुख देखाउने होला? 🙂
