🕋 Avoid These Common Mistakes During Tawaf
Tawaf is one of the most meaningful acts of worship performed around the Kaaba. While completing the seven circuits, remember that your conduct, patience, and focus are also part of your worship.
1. Pushing to Reach the Black Stone
Kissing or touching the Black Stone is a Sunnah when it can be done safely. Do not push, harm, or inconvenience others in an attempt to reach it.
2. Believing Every Circuit Has a Specific Du’a
There is no prescribed du’a for each individual round of Tawaf. You may make du’a, recite Qur’an, and remember Allah throughout your Tawaf.
3. Rushing Through Tawaf
Do not treat Tawaf like a race. Move with calmness and consideration for those around you, especially when the Mataf is crowded.
4. Becoming Distracted by Your Phone
Photos and videos can easily take your attention away from worship. Use this precious time for dhikr, du’a, reflection, and remembrance of Allah.
5. Losing Patience in the Crowd
Crowded conditions can be challenging. Remain patient, avoid arguments, and treat fellow pilgrims with kindness and respect.
6. Focusing Only on Counting the Seven Circuits
Keep track of your rounds, but do not allow counting to become your only focus. Remember the purpose of Tawaf and keep your heart connected to Allah.
7. Missing the Opportunity for Du’a
Use the time during and after your Tawaf to sincerely turn to Allah, ask for forgiveness, and make du’a for yourself, your family, and the Ummah.
May Allah grant us the opportunity to perform Tawaf around the Kaaba and accept our Hajj and Umrah. Ameen. 🤲
