Provision of a 900 sq ft cafe with outside seating and two Eco Cycle pods storing 408 bikes - or use the entire footprint for parking half the number of bikes. It's not just the aesthetics of design, it's improved bike security, countering 327,000 cycle thefts in the UK in 2015/16 (ONS Stats). It's also the added user convenience of being able to see availability of spaces on an app prior to setting off, with an ability to reserve a space; and it's the ability to safely leave kit (helmets, lights, pumps, bags etc) on the bike.

Removal of the barriers that are an excuse for why people aren't cycling, will encourage more people to cycle. Eco Cycle makes cycling that bit easier by removing the hassle and risk of a journey.

This is how to park bikes!
Where you can see the location and availability of cycle spaces on an app prior to setting out; where you don’t need to carry heavy locks; and where you can leave your peripherals on the bike, including helmet, lights, computers etc; and where anxiety of theft is taken away: then we consider this improves the convenience of cycling, which raises the take-up of cycling: & cycling is good for us all, whether you cycle or not, as it: helps reduce traffic congestion; reduces vehicle emissions; improves personal health, which reduces the burden on the states health service.

Many thanks to everyone who helped with last nights launch party, making it such a success!! Special thanks to Lucinda Jackson (events), Maxwell Kenna (artistry) and Lex Kreeftenberg (plants). Having the Mayors Cycling Commissioner, Andrew Gilligan in attendance, and having a write-up in the Evening Standard was icing on the cake!
