Ilford Islamic Centre The official page of Ilford Islamic Centre - Ilford's Central Mosque. You can see a list of all the services here.

Ilford Islamic Centre is the largest and most famous Mosque in Redbridge and is now very well known not just in London but throughout the country. It has developed over the years into a centre which has become a focal point for the muslims of Redbridge, providing a variety of facilities to serve the community. Situated in the heart of South Ilford and within close proximity to Ilford Town Centre,

the Mosque is easily accessible by all forms of transport and this in turn results in large congregations especially during Jumah prayer time. The Masjid has a large number of members who every three years engage in a transparent and thorough election process to elect a Management Committee – this consists of 11 members and they are responsible for making the decisions which effect the day to day running of the Mosque. The role of the mosque extends beyond that of providing for Jumah and the obligatory prayers. The IIC sits on many community and voluntary committees and has representation on the East London Three faiths Forum, Redbridge Racial Equality Council, Redbridge Council of Faiths, Standing Advisory Council on Religious Education (SACRE), Redbridge Police Consultative Committee Group, Racist Incident Panel, Redbridge Voluntary Sector Network, the Muslim Council of Britain (MCB) and Helping Hands.

REMEMBERING: Imam Abdullah Siraj al-Din al-Husayni (رحمة الله عليه)

Imam Abdullah Siraj al-Din was born in the lands of Sham just prior to the collapse of the Ottoman Caliphate. He studied under the great scholars of the era and, through the mid to late 20th century, served as a teacher and mentor to an entire generation of Ulema. He was a rare master of the sciences of both the Qur'an and Hadith, and was known to have memorized over 100,000 Hadith narrations.

He devoted his life to reviving sacred knowledge, teaching with unparalleled humility, and guiding souls toward Allah through love of the Prophet ﷺ and deep engagement with the Qur'an.

Among his most treasured works is his masterpiece, Sayyiduna Muhammad Rasulullah (Our Master Muhammad) — a profound biography of the Prophet ﷺ that draws the reader closer to his noble character, his light, and his path (a must buy for you and your households - one’s love of the Beloved Prophetﷺ grows even deeper and appreciates the author’s passion and why he was called the Pole of Prophetic love).

Alongside this, his books Recitation of the Glorious Qur'an and The Daily Dua Book continue to illuminate hearts around the world. All translated in English and widely available.

He taught us that the Qur'an is not merely recited but lived, that love of the Prophet ﷺ is the key to divine love, and that the path to Allah is paved with gratitude, reverence, and steadfastness.
Some of Imam Sirauddin’s sayings:

“The deeds that enter people the most into the Garden is piety [taqwal before God and an excellent character”.

“Increase your recitation of la ilaha ill 'Allah for it renews your faith, protects from the forbidden, the doors of the heavens are opened with it and it removes loneliness.”

"O my son! Only the person who has been granted acceptance in the blessed court of Sayyidina Muhammadur RasoolAllahﷺ, is able to recite Dala'il al-Khayrat regularly."

REMEMBERING - Sayyiduna Usman bin Affan (Dhu’n-Nurayn) Radiyallahu Anhu

Sayyiduna Usman bin Affan was a close companion of the Beloved Prophetﷺ, whose deep wisdom and wealth continues to benefit the ummah.

He was Dhu’n-Nurayn - the possessor of the two lights (by having the exclusive fortune of marrying two of the Holy Prophet’s ﷺ daughters), he was As-Sabiqun al-Awwalun, the first of the Muhajirun, Ashra Mubashara - 1 of the 10 companions promised Paradise, 3rd Khulafa ar-Rashidun, he had memorised all of the Qur’an, and he narrated one hundred and forty-six hadith from Rasool Allah ‎ﷺ.

He compiled the Holy Qur’an and distributed it to the four corners of the world, and thus became a partner in the rewards of those who recite the Noble Qur’an until the day of judgement.

His fortune during the day consisted of goodness of character, fasting and prayers, he was a wise leader and upright businessman. During the night his fortune consisted of supererogatory devotions, reciting the Quran, contemplation and prayers. Some blessed sayings:

‘The highest degree of faith is that you always regard yourself in the presence of God’

‘He who makes the Quran his guide would remain safe from sin, and he would be counted among the best of people’

‘Modesty in this life brings comfort to the heart and the body’

Sayyiduna Usman bin Affan – was assassinated whist reciting the Quran and was fasting too. He opened his fast in the company of Rasool Allah ‎ﷺ in heaven.

No appointment is necessary and the testing process is quick and confidential.

Many people with Hepatitis B or C may not experience any symptoms and may not realise they are infected. These viruses can seriously affect the liver and, if left untreated, may lead to liver damage, cirrhosis, or even liver cancer.

*🌙 Dhu’l-Hijjah / Eid al-Adha / Moon Update 🌙*

Alhumdulillah we have received positive sightings for the moon and hereby announce the first night of Dhu’l-Hijjah 1446AH has commenced, with the first day confirmed as Monday 18 May 2026.

As a result we will be celebrating Eid Al-Adha on Wednesday 27th May 2026. Eid Salah timings will be shared in due course, Insha’Allah.

Sayyiduna 'Abdullah ibn Hisham (radiyallahu'anhu) reports that the Sahabah (radiyallahu 'anhum) would learn the following dua for when the new month or new year would begin:

‎اللَّهُمَّ أَدْخِلْهُ عَلَيْنَا بِالْأَمْنِ وَالْإِيمَانِ
‎وَالسَّلَامَةِ وَالْإِسْلَامِ
‎وَجِوَارٍ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ
‎وَرِضْوَانٍ مِنَ الرَّحْمَنِ

Allahumma adkhilhu 'alayna bil amni wal iman, was salamati wal islam, wa jiwarim minash shaytan, wa ridwanim minar Rahman.

Translation
O Allah, bring this [month or year] upon us with security and iman, safety and Islam, protection from shaytan, and the pleasure of Al-Rahman.
(Mu'jamus Sahabah of Baghawi, &
Al-Mu'jamul Awsat of Tabarani, Hadith: 6237)

The month of Dhu’l Hijjah — the twelfth month of the lunar calendar, also known as the month of pilgrimage — draws us near to the most precious days of the year.

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ informed us that there are no days in which good deeds are more beloved to Allah than the first ten days of this month. These are the days in which millions are performing the hajj in Mecca. Although we are not physically there, we can still take advantage of this time.

Whether it be prayer, fasting, charity, remembrance, seeking knowledge, helping people, any good we do will be greatly rewarded and beyond that are beloved to Allah.

Although these are the longest days of the year and fasting is difficult, we should all do our best to fast the Day of Arafah, the 9th day of the month which most likely will be on Tuesday 26th May. This is regarded as the greatest single day of the year and fasting erases the wrongdoing of the past year and the year to come.

Finally there is no action more beloved to Allah on the Day of Eid than making a sacrifice. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ told his beloved daughter Sayyidah Fatimah al-Zahra’ that she would be forgiven for her previous wrongdoings with the first drop of blood to be shed from the sacrificed animal. She asked if this reward was specifically for the household of the Prophet and he replied: “For us and for all Muslims.” We should all therefore make the effort to pay for qurbani/udhiyah.

We wish everyone a Mubarak Eid.
