As we all know, it's been a very hot week this week, but our guys don't let a few hot days wane their performance.

From the small to the large, we've covered it all: collecting and delivering a stitching machine in the basement of a university to loading CNC lathes and machining centres. All supported by our fully equipped tool vans and articulated lorries with specialised forklifts, helping us to get the job done whenever and wherever it's needed.

Our Operations Manager Roy, along with his partner Theresa, colleague Craig and son, joined thousands of classic motorcycle enthusiasts worldwide on Sunday for the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride (DGR).

This incredible global event raises awareness and funds for prostate cancer research and men’s mental health – causes that affect so many. It was a fantastic day for a great cause, bringing together style, community and purpose.

Nine years ago we moved this giant leaf cutting ant for the very first time – and we were asked back to move it once again.

What made it even more special was that two members of our team who worked on the original move were also part of this one. Sadly, our lorry from the first move couldn’t be with us due to its retirement, but our 8-wheel rigid vehicle with drawbar trailer and Fassi Crane were more than up to the job.

The giant ant has travelled from Butterfly World in St Albans, to The Royal Entomological Society in St Albans, and now on to its forever home in Norfolk at The Bug Parc. We’re sure the children visiting the Bug Parc will get a lot of enjoyment from this gentle beast, and the staff at the Ethnological building will certainly miss their giant friend.

Even though it was a Bank Holiday weekend, our boys were hard at work.

We were tasked with relocating two safanDarley E-Brake 100-3100 Premium, two LVD PPEB 110/30 Hydraulic Press Brakes and a Safan Guillotine within our customer's building, all outside their working hours to ensure minimal disruption to operations. We used our 7 tonne Hyster forklift with jib attachment to complete the work.

As you can see, we're always happy to adapt to our customers' needs and get the job done when it matters most.

It’s always great to receive positive feedback from our customers!

Last week we put our Hyster 7-tonne forklift and Fassi crane to work, relocating press brakes, guillotines and other sheet metal machinery for a sheet metal fabrication company. Here at Paul A Watler Machinery Movements we don’t only work with new machinery; we also provide relocation and removal services for existing equipment.

Last week, we supported a client by safely removing several CNC lathes from their workshop. This work formed part of assisting the company with its closure as the owners prepare for their retirement.

Today’s task from start to finish with our newest team member Robbie the Robot...

For this project we combined good old-fashioned labour with the newest technology alongside our specialist SDC Crane Trailer and our 25/35 extending counter balance fork lift, Versa lift.

We were tasked with collecting/uplifting a SYIL X11 VMC from a local supplier, before transporting, offloading and siting it within their customer's tool room in Gosport, Hampshire. In order to facilitate access, we were required to relocate two Fadel and two SYIL VMCs to allow the new SYIL X11 vertical machining centre with a 4th axis to be sited, precisely meeting the customer's requirements.

All in all, another demonstration that both supplier and customer were made very happy by our expert team here at Paul A Watler Machinery Movements. And even our Operations Director Roy is smiling – thank you for working your magic Robbie!
