๐Ÿ“– Our Annual Report 2025 is now available! ๐ŸŽ‰

As a Trust Port, transparency and accountability are at the heart of everything we do. Our latest Annual Report provides a detailed overview of our financial performance, operational achievements and governance, while also highlighting the people, partnerships and projects that have helped shape another successful year for the Haven. ๐Ÿ“ˆ๐Ÿค

From investing in our employees and developing future talent, to supporting local communities, enhancing safety and protecting our unique environment, the report demonstrates how we continue to reinvest in the Haven for the benefit of all who rely on it. ๐ŸŒฑ

๐ŸŒ Collaboration remains key to our success. Working alongside customers, partners, stakeholders and communities, we're helping to futureproof the Haven, strengthen Britain's gateway to global trade and deliver lasting value for the region.

But a report can only tell part of the story...

That's why we're inviting you to join us at our Annual Public Meeting on Wednesday 8 July at The Waterfront, Harwich, where we'll bring the stories behind the statistics to life and showcase some of the projects, initiatives and investments that have made a difference over the past 12 months. โš“

๐ŸŒฟ Today, on World Saltmarsh Day, we're proud to share a new film made in partnership with Boskalis showcasing our Beneficial Use of Dredging (BUDS) project at Copperas Bay.

๐ŸŒฟSaltmarshes are among our most valuable coastal habitats. They provide a home for wildlife, help absorb carbon, and act as a natural buffer against erosion and flooding. Yet around our coast, these vital habitats are under increasing pressure.

Through our BUDS project, we're taking material from essential maintenance dredging operations and putting it to positive use โ€“ helping to protect and strengthen vulnerable saltmarsh habitat for the future.๐ŸŒŠ

This short film takes you behind the scenes at Copperas Bay, where we're working with partners to demonstrate how navigation, environmental stewardship and coastal resilience can go hand in hand.๐Ÿค

๐ŸŽฅ Watch the video below to learn more about the project and the long-term benefits it will bring for both people and wildlife. ๐Ÿ‘‰https://vimeo.com/1198339546?share=copy&fl=sv&fe=ci

๐Ÿ‘Great to see one of our pilots, Euan, captivate local children at the Spring Meadow Primary School and 'School House' Nursery recently!

Euan talked about the role of a marine pilot and how our operational teams work together to bring in the worldโ€™s largest and deepest ships. ๐Ÿ›ณ๏ธ

We think the children particularly liked the life jackets inflating ๐Ÿ˜‚

๐Ÿšข A brand-new giant is heading for Felixstowe!

We're looking forward to welcoming YM WORTHINESS on 12 June as part of her maiden voyage and first-ever visit to Europe.

โš“Fresh from the shipyard, this brand-new vessel is among the latest additions to the global container fleet and will call at Felixstowe as part of the new Premier Alliance FE3 service.

With a capacity of around 15,500 TEU and stretching an impressive 365 metres in length, she's set to be an impressive sight as she arrives into the Haven.

A huge thank you to our friends at Yang Ming for sharing this fantastic photo and giving us a sneak peek of the vessel before she arrives!

Will you be watching her arrival? ๐Ÿ‘€

๐ŸŒŠ๐Ÿ’™ Happy World Ocean Day! ๐Ÿ’™๐ŸŒŠ

Today, weโ€™re celebrating our connection to the sea by making it even easier for our local community to help protect it.

Weโ€™re delighted to have donated a second litter pick station, creating a coastal litter-picking route between Harwich Town Sailing Club and the Harwich Low Lighthouse. ๐Ÿšฎ

Now, anyone can collect a litter picker and bag from either location, enjoy a walk along the waterfront, and help remove litter along the way before returning the equipment at the other station.

Every piece of litter removed makes a difference. Plastic pollution remains one of the biggest threats to our marine environment:

๐Ÿ”น Around 80% of marine litter originates from land-based sources, finding its way into rivers, estuaries and eventually the sea.
๐Ÿ”น Plastic makes up the vast majority of marine litter found on UK and North Atlantic beaches.
๐Ÿ”น Once in the ocean, plastic breaks down into tiny microplastics that can be ingested by marine wildlife and persist in the environment for many years.

By working together, we can help keep our coastline clean, protect wildlife, and ensure future generations can continue to enjoy our beautiful waterfront.

As our IT Support Engineer Sean demonstrates below, if youโ€™re passing by, why not grab a litter picker and help make a difference? ๐ŸŒโ™ป๏ธ

๐ŸŒŠ What an incredible day at West End Beach, Dovercourt! ๐Ÿš๐Ÿ”

Thank you to everyone who joined us and Seaside Explorers for a brilliant BioBlitz packed with discovery, curiosity and coastal adventures. It was wonderful to see families of all ages exploring the shoreline together and uncovering the amazing wildlife living right on our doorstep. ๐Ÿฆ€๐ŸŒฑ
