So it was a dull morning, which then turned to rain so we bided our time as we knew we only had a couple of hours ride. Today I had a lay in until 0900, although Emma is always an early riser.
Off we set about midday and went through villages and small roads, to Rouen, the only big town we had to navigate, and then out the otherside. We seemed to be forever coming across 30kph limits and pedestrian crossings.
We then turned the corner and saw the sea. The hotel was easy to find and we turned into the carpark..to find thick loose gravel.
So into the hotel to find whete else we could park, luckily a tarmac/ concrete public car park was nearby. So unpack the bikes, lock them up and change out of our gear, because we were bloody hot and sweating profusely .
Our room is on the first floor, and the WiFi doesn't work. Luckily the portable WiFi box I had purchased does so we can do this post and Emma can watch her films.
Ice cream at 5 and at 7 we had dinner. I deliberately chose this place for the seafood, and it didnt let us down.
Slight technical hitch though, I suddenly came over feeling very sick and rushed to our room. Sadly I didnt quite make it. I tried to clear it up and the bathroom and then I then had to go to the staff and explain the problem using Google translate. They were really kind and helped me and made sure I was OK. As you can imagine I was mortified.
The planned creme rules dessert, and two baileys never happened and we are now relaxing in our room.
Tomorrow it's just a 20 minute ride to the ferry and we check in from 10am. Lets hope there are no delays this time.
