Many of you may remember Iona Freeman, who has been sailing with CalMac since she was a baby and has appeared in photos from her many ferry adventures over the years.

Now, at just five years old, Iona has combined her two favourite things, horses and ferries, in a truly unique way!

At the recent Loweswater Show in the Lake District, Iona entered the fancy dress competition with her pony, Fudge. But this wasn't just any fancy dress costume. Together, they transformed Fudge into MV Isle of Lewis, creating a four-legged ferry that wowed visitors and judges alike! 🚢✨

The incredible costume was a huge hit at the show and is a fantastic example of Iona's passion for CalMac, which continues to grow with every sailing.

A huge thank you to Iona's dad for sharing these wonderful photos with us. We're absolutely delighted to see such creativity and enthusiasm, and we're proud to have such a dedicated young fan in the CalMac family. ❤️

Today, 3 September, we mark Merchant Navy Day - honouring the brave seafarers who served during both World Wars and celebrating those who continue to play a vital role in keeping the UK supplied today.

Earlier, Engagement Director, Robert Morrison, represented CalMac at the Merchant Navy Day service in Leith, Edinburgh, where a wreath was laid at the Scottish Merchant Navy Memorial in memory of those lost at sea.

Thank you to all our seafaring colleagues, past and present, for the vital work you do every day to serve our customers and communities. ⚓️
