I have seen big city museums with not nearly as good display as this venue.
What a little gem. Local & industrial history.

Not forgetting Tea on the Train. Nice food & good service. Keep up the good work 👍

On this trip I visited Kielder Castle Grounds & Mountain Bike Shop. Parking at the nearby Visitor Centre Car Park.

We begun the journey surrounded by Trees, well we were in England's Largest Forest and Northern Europe's Biggest man made lake 😀

Next we followed the footpath down to: Kielder Forest Bike Shop & Hire.

I finished the trip around the grounds of Kielder Castle, just a little walk. Here you find information on cycle routes and walks on the visitor maps.

Unfortunately the Castle was closed for maintenance, but I will return at a later date.

The home to a herd of Deer, but you can also do woodland walks with your dog, before or after visiting Mina & Frens - Lovely things for lovely
Dogs.

Inside the main building you will find Inspiring Retail where you can buy a large range of produce and gifts. Not forgetting the brilliant displays of the independent businesses and the event space with great views.

I purchased a Latte with a complimentary small flapjack and shared my gingerbread flapjack bought in the shop. Both were great! Thankyou for not just giving me a biscoff what a lot of cafes give you with coffee, although I do like a biscoff. Nice seated areas outside with views!

An Internet search shows the Waterfall to be at the car park, but the walk one way actually starts at the Car Park near to The First & Last Brewery.

My walk actually began at the bridge next to Jubille park, which followed the river Tyne north with a stop-off at Saint Cuthberts Well, which is an ancient well visited by the man himself.

The walk was around 1.3 miles each way. There are steps along the way with some uneven ground at places, but there are plenty of seated areas along the way. You will also find bridges with ordnance survey location plaques.

This is a nice walk!

A trip to the Northumberland Roman village of Corbridge.
By the River Tyne, you will find a beautiful stone bridge leading up to the main village area.
On my visit, I went to Grants Bakery, which have a large selection of: Bakery, Patisserie, ice cream, drinks and other items.
After that I went to Saint Andrews church.
I popped in The Blue pub as well where people were friendly.
A nice visit before I went to the village of Bellingham where I was staying at Brown Rigg Lodges.

Facilities in the village of Bellingham include:
5 bars, several eateries, coop, diy shop, butchers, gift shops, petrol station, caravan parks, Heritage Centre museum with Tea on the Train.

Hauxley Wildlife Discovery Centre.

A trip to Hauxley Wildlife Discovery Centre close to Amble in Northumberland. The Wildlife centre forms a part of Druridge bay. This is managed by Northumberland Wildlife Trust.

The visitor Centre includes a cafe, educational areas, toilets and friendly staff/volunteers. There are parking meters with plenty of spaces. Entry is free to the Discovery Centre.

The time of visit was late in the day so wasn't able to fully explore everything. However I covered a lot in 1 hour, alternatively you could spend several hours here.

I definitely recommend a visit here if your into wildlife. You could alternatively visit any of the other nature reserves in the Druridge bay area which spans 7 miles; starting with Hauxley in the North to Cresswell in the South, taking approximately takes 2 hours 30 mins to walk.

A visit to Raby Castle - The Vinery, The Coach House and An Equine Past.

Check out the Vinery Restaurant set in a restored Victorian Glasshouse and surrounded by sloped lawns and buildings.

Next I go to the Coach House to walk around one of the retail spaces and learn the history about the owning families and surrounding landscape.
