⛵ Pearl doing what she was built to do 💙
There’s something really special about seeing the Pearl of Dunbar under sail in her home harbour.
After all the hours of restoration, problem solving and volunteer effort, these are the moments that make it worthwhile. Sails filling, clinker-built hull slipping through the water and Pearl looking completely at home amongst the boats of Dunbar Harbour.
And, of course, sailing a traditional boat isn’t all picturesque moments under canvas! There’s rigging, rowing, checks, ropes to sort and plenty of hands on learning along the way. That’s all part of the adventure, keeping skills alive as well as keeping Pearl sailing.
Our first season with Pearl is giving us the chance to learn the boat, build experience and most importantly, enjoy seeing her back on the water where she belongs.
A huge thank you to everyone who has helped make this possible
❤️ Here’s to many more days under sail ⛵
