With temperatures set to hit record highs, we headed to Lidl this morning to arm ourselves for battle… 🔫☀️

Well, that’s what I thought anyway.

Luke headed straight for the tiny pool noodle water blaster.

I, on the other hand, went for the double-nozzle super soaker. 💪😂

Safe to say we had very different ideas about how this was going to go!

We’re not away this weekend as we’ve decided to stay home and get everything ready for Germany, which is now just over a week away 🇩🇪⛺️

But honestly? Days like this remind us that adventures don’t always have to be miles from home. Sometimes it’s water fights in the garden, lots of laughter, and making memories together while the sun shines.

And yes… Brianna may have teamed up with one of us. I’ll let you guess who won. 😏💦

We LOVE a family festival now. We looked at booking this one for next year, but unfortunately at £425 + for a pitch with no showers or toilets (we are ok being off grid with basics) that’s automatically priced us out of the running for this one unfortunately. Which is a shame. We did RIAT 2025 for less than this for over a week - and that had porta loos and showers! 😬

However we’re loving seeing all the photos and videos of people we know who have gone this year!

🏕️ If you’ve been following this story, this is the update you’ve been waiting for…

Remember when I told Luke I wanted to try solo camping?

And remember when he said: “Why buy a tent? You’ll probably hate it.” Then handed me his 20 YEAR OLD tent instead?

Well…

Yesterday was the waterproof test.

I was fully prepared for it to fail dramatically and give me a perfectly reasonable excuse to go tent shopping.

Unfortunately for me… it passed. 😂

Not a leak. Not a problem. Still standing. Still doing exactly what it was designed to do two decades ago.

So it looks like Luke’s old Khyam is officially mine. Now all I need is the next step…

A campsite.

Somewhere safe. Somewhere beginner-friendly. Somewhere ideal for a woman attempting her first solo camping adventure while also trying to prove her husband wrong. 😏
