Bassenthwaite Sailing Club is pleased to announce that the Great North Asymmetric Challenge (GNAC), sponsored by Trident UK, will take place on Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 September 2025. Now a well-established fixture in the northern sailing calendar.

4 Weeks to Go Until Ginger Boats Bass Week 2025!

Just four weeks (Friday 1/8) till the gates open on Ginger Boats Bass Week 2025 (no Glasto-style Thursday queueing up the lane!). Both the Bass Week council and our members can’t wait to welcome familiar faces and first-timers to this year’s regatta.

Entries are looking good, with nearly 150 boats already signed up and more joining daily. The FF15 fleet currently leads the pack with 18 keels on the start line. Solos, Mirrors, and RS200s have all hit double figures - particularly impressive given the RS200 nationals are happening the same week.

The Medium Handicap fleet is shaping up to be a fiercely competitive one, boasting 23 boats, a great mix of seasoned Bass Week regulars and new challengers. Lasers are just shy of 20 entries, and the Tera swarm looks set to be in double figures each day, prepare for chaos and fun in equal measure!

This year, we’re delighted to welcome a fantastic lineup of new sponsors. Gingerboats is our title sponsor for 2025, and Alex will be on site all week, so if you’re looking to sort out those dings, upgrade gear, or get rigging advice, don’t miss the chance for a chat.
