🏍️ 10 Signs You’re a Bad Motorcyclist
Be honest, how many of these have you been guilty of?
1. Grabbing the front brake
Squeeze progressively. Grabbing a handful can put you on the deck.
2. Staring at hazards
Look where you want to go, not at what you’re trying to avoid.
3. Sitting in blind spots
Make yourself visible and always leave an escape route.
4. Trusting indicators
Don’t assume someone will turn. Watch their wheels, position and behaviour.
5. Getting braking wrong in corners
Set your speed before the bend. If you need to brake while leaning, be smooth.
6. Riding too close
Keep at least a two-second gap and increase it in poor conditions.
7. Forgetting shoulder checks
Mirrors don’t show everything. Remember your lifesaver checks.
8. Riding with your ego
Someone cuts you up? Let it go. Getting home matters more than proving a point.
9. Skipping protective gear
“It’s only five minutes away.” The tarmac doesn’t care. Wear your kit.
10. Neglecting bike checks
Tyres, brakes, chain, lights and fluids. A quick check could save your life.
Being a good motorcyclist isn’t about how fast you ride. It’s about anticipation, awareness and staying in control.
Ride smart. Ride safe. Get home. 🏍️
