My family and I have started our own regeneration project...
So far I picked two heavy bags of muddy garbage from the green in front of Bethal Chapel, and at least another two bags still lying in the grass and along the road. The more time I spend picking, the more garbage I see...
We would love to replace the trash with something better. Any of my Steam Mills neighbors have any spare wildflower seeds or spring bulbs?

BRILLIANT NEWS!
I have had this message from PCSO, Sue Pritchard after a meeting with Highways, "Due to the road layout changing in September 2018, the traffic calming should become a natural change, as they have said there will be traffic lights installed on the junction to the industrial estate and a new road avoiding Steam Mills. However we did discuss that when the new road goes through, it will make traffic flow lighter which then will encourage faster roads. They have recognised this as so they have said ‘we’ can then apply to get the speed reduced to 30mph with a restriction of 20mph outside the school at school times. This is something that we will have to do once the road layout is in place. There is still work to do on this, but we will keep trying. It is not yet confirmed that this will definitely happen, but the indication is all good!"

We have been asked by the police to conduct another speed assessment through Steam Mills. Who's up for showing drivers that we care about our community? It involves spending about 30 mins on the roadside logging driver speeds, oh and wearing this very fetching 'high vis' jacket!

Brilliant! We can walk along Steam Mills Road without being dangerously close to the road edge. The vegetation had crept over half way, which you can just make out in the photos. Thank you to Gloucestershire County Council and Amey for finally sorting this issue for us. Reclaiming the streets!

Three sheep have recently taken up residency on the folly green. Unsure where they have come from or who owns them but I welcome them. However as you can see from this photo they are crossing the road so drivers please be extra careful here. We'd hate to see one as road kill.

Accident in Steam Mills this morning. Looked like a car had gone though a wall on the bend. I went past at 7.30am. Hope nobody was seriously hurt.

MISSING: Here is a lovely chap made by the school children at Steam Mills Primary. We walked past at 5pm and took this photo, then walked back again at 9.30pm and he's missing!
