The railroad is run by a sole Baldwin 4-8-0 locomotive #475, otherwise known as the Rainbow Sun. Its home base is in Shining Time, located not to far from muffle mountain. Some of the services the railroad offers are freight and commuter services. The Rainbow Sun is run by veteran engineer B

illy Twofeathers a very smart engineer who knows the land and the railroad better then anyone else who works on the "Indian Valley Railroad" and of course Mr. Conductor who is the caretaker of "Shining Time Station". The Indian Valley Railroad is said to run from Big City to Pelican Falls stopping at Lucy's Leap, Fort Farley, Snarleyville, Cloggyville, Buttertown, Spotsville, Farmer's Dell, Twiddly Junction, Doodle Haven, Muffle Mountain, Dillylick, Chubby Corners, Leaky Park and of course, Shining Time Station. Noteable Passengers: Lily Stone and Mutt. The real Indian Valley Railroad: By pure coincidence, there was a real Indian Valley Railroad. A railroad was built from the town of Paxton, California into the Engels Copper Mines, which were the largest copper mines in California. The line was run by two ex-D&RGW locomotives with two freight cars and one passenger car. The line was shut down in 1938 due to lack of traffic and due to the declining value of copper. There was also a real Indian Valley where the copper mines were located.
