Nothing says “easy day” quite like relocating two horses, catching them from the field yourself, loading them, packing the tack, and coordinating the whole thing via video call with an owner who was an hour and a half away stuck in traffic!

This lovely mum-and-son duo were making the move from the West Wales coast to the beautiful Cotswolds.

For a moment, it felt less like horse transport and more like I was directing air traffic control. Fortunately, the horses were far more organised than the humans and did everything exactly as asked.

Somehow, against all odds and with horsey logistics working their usual magic, everything went perfectly. We met in the Cotswolds at exactly the right time, the horses settled straight into their new home, and I pointed the truck towards Wales.

The horses got a new home, the owner got there eventually, and I got the prize I was really aiming for all along… my bed! 😴🐴

Just when I thought my day was done after a trip to Telford, Equine Rescue Services rang…

Two beach-loving horses had managed to turn a day by the sea into an unexpected roadside adventure after breaking down on the way home.

Off I went, rescue wagon at the ready! Both were safely collected, travelled brilliantly, and were tucked up back in Hereford before bedtime.

As for me? I’m off to recharge my own batteries before I break down too! 😴🐴🚚

I moved Bally from Worcester to South Wales a little while ago… and today she did the return trip home again. 🐴

A slightly bittersweet one, as Bally came to stay at my yard and very quickly became part of the furniture — and probably believed she owned the place too. 😂

It was another painfully early start this morning to beat the heat (starting to think I should permanently operate on vampire hours 🙄), but Bally travelled perfectly and was happily tucking into the grass in her new paddock in Worcester by 10:30am.

8pm start… yes, that’s right… 8pm. 🌙

After the weather finally cooled down to a vaguely acceptable temperature, I headed off to collect Billy and his emotional support mule Lucy from their luxury spa retreat at the vets and chauffeur them home to the Gower.

By the time i got them back home safely at 10pm, it was still a positively tropical 23 degrees. At this point I’m considering adding air con and cocktails to the horsebox. 🍹🐴

Amber had an early start this morning, heading from South Wales to Gloucester before the weather decided to turn the UK into the Sahara again! 🌡️

She was delivered, unloaded and happily in her paddock by 10am — all before the heat really kicked in.

By the time I hit the M4 at 11am to head home, it was already touching 29° 🥵

Back to bed for me… only I could end up battling a virus during a heatwave 🤧🤒

T’was a hot one Sunday… the kind of hot where even the sat nav sounds fed up ☀️🥵So this was my last transport for a day ...

T’was a hot one Sunday… the kind of hot where even the sat nav sounds fed up ☀️🥵

So this was my last transport for a day or two while the weather gets off its high horse (yes, I’m still proud of that one) and calms itself down 😅

Nubin was up bright and early and chauffeured off to Hazleton Horse Trials, where he clearly didn’t let the heat bother him — casually coming 6th out of 40 entries like it was no big deal 🏅

Meanwhile, on the way home:
Humans — “Pizza for dinner?”
Nubin — “Absolutely not, I require a full nap immediately.” 💤🐴

By halfway home he was snoring harder than the lorry fan.

Huge well done to Rebecca and Nubin — dream team behaviour from both of them!

Such a beautiful filly moved! ✨

After meeting at Brecon Horse Sales, this gorgeous quarter horse filly travelled swiftly and steadily down to Fishguard, arriving cool, calm and collected at her new home.

Considering she had to leave one of her friends behind at the sales, she behaved impeccably the entire journey — loaded beautifully, travelled quietly and took it all in her stride like a little pro 🐴

Wishing her lots of happiness in her new home!

Talk about making an entrance into Wales… this beautiful youngster quite literally stopped traffic on his journey down from Newcastle yesterday 😅

Safely collected just off the M4 for Equine Rescue Services and delivered to his new home like he’d done it a hundred times before. Super chilled, travelled like a pro and behaved like an absolute star from start to finish ⭐️🐴

Today’s passenger was feeling a little worse for wear…
3 legs working, 1 on annual leave 🫣

But even on 3 legs he loaded, travelled (better than most do on 4!) and unloaded like an absolute superstar ⭐️

Of course his emotional support mule had to come along too — because no poorly patient should travel without their slightly judgemental best friend 😅

Both travelled perfectly from start to finish and have a few spa days at Cotts Equine Hospital ahead 🏨
