Loveswimrun Love SwimRun organise Swimrun & open water swimming events & guided days out in North Wales. Go on, dive in!

Love SwimRun launched in 2016 with our inaugral event Love SwimRun Llanberis, the first swimrun event in Wales! SwimRun is Britain’s fastest growing endurance sport and you can expect to see lots more events taking off in more UK locations. Went host 2 great events: Love SwimRun Llanberis and Love SwimRun Holy Island – a spectacular linear course on the Anglesey coast! You’ll need to sign up fast for these fun SwimRuns as we only have limited spaces! We also offer three fantastic open water swimming events: The Big Welsh Swim & The Big Bala Swim, which both use narrow gauge railways to transport you to the start of your swim! We have numerous length options, plus spaces for juniors and a non-wetsuit option! The Welsh Winter Swim is a fun but freezing swim challenge with various distances and fun categories, for those that don't mind getting cold! If you prefer smaller events we run guided swimwalks and guided swims down the Menai Strait, plus we offer open water swim courses and 1:1 coaching.

The Welsh Winter Swim is going WILD! 🌪🐊🐬🐅🦄🦆🦖🌈

Last year, our inflatables race had 11 entries... This year? 60! 😱

We’ve actually had to CLOSE ENTRIES for the inflatables race, and there are now only 40 PLACES LEFT ACROSS THE ENTIRE EVENT! 🤯

Honestly, I never expected this level of enthusiasm, and I’m so, so pleased that so many of you want to come and throw yourselves into the freezing waters of Llyn Padarn with us! 🥶 Loons!

We’ve already had people getting in touch about waiting lists, and we’re busy looking at ways we might be able to increase capacity so that as many of you as possible can join the madness.

I can’t promise anything just yet, but we’re certainly going to see what we can do!
In the meantime, if you’re planning to join us, DON’T LEAVE IT TOO LATE — with just 40 places remaining, we could sell out VERY soon!!

Thanks Skip and Gail for a wonderful morning at New Bath Hotel and Spa, a member of Radisson Individuals Jp Skipper. We had a fabulous social sauna and an exhausting swim in the spring fed lido. It’s one of the nicest pools I’ve ever swum in and the first swim in a long time that hasn’t left with a streaming nose and repeatedly sneezing! 😃
The lido in Matlock Bath is a unique and historic gem, first opened in 1934 during the golden age of outdoor swimming. Fed directly by the site’s natural geothermal spring, it is the only lido in England heated by spring water, with temperatures naturally ranging from around 15 °C in winter to 23 °C. It’s an impressive 40 yards long so great for a workout or leisurely pootle alike. Once a glamorous leisure destination, it’s is now a super chilled, friendly and sociable spot, and the addition of the new wood fired sauna makes it well worth a visit.
Matlock bath a great little place with lots to do too! Get yourself to the Peak District!

The last Secret SwimWalk today was a ball!

We were lucky to have a beautiful October day with a good dose of sunshine which made the autumn colours glow. There were so many amazing toadstools and mushrooms, spider webs bejewelled in dew drops, and deserted lakes we had all to ourselves.

The water is turning a little chilly now but we all still enjoyed 4 glorious swims. I think the smiles speak for themselves!

I'll be adding dates for 2027 soon. We are currently checking out some new Secret SwimWalk routes too!...

📢Entries for the Menai Strait Swims & Castle to Castle Swim open this Friday at 10am!

This spectacular swoosh sold out super fast this year and places for next year will sell out quickly too!

The Menai Strait Swims are a very fast and unforgettable bucket list challenge that you'll be able to brag about for years to come! We will guide you safely through the bubbling 'Swellies', under the two historic bridges and take you on an amazing adventure in this Special Area of Conservation.

We have 3 swim options to choose from...

Castle to Castle Challenge 🏰
Take on this 20km open-water adventure between Beaumaris and Caernarfon. Swim through fast moving tides, breathtaking scenery, past historic bridges and wildlife, fully supported by our expert safety team.

The Original Menai Strait Swim 🌊
A 6.5km Swim from Menai Bridge to Y Felinheli. We will play in Eddie currents, guide you safely through the bubbling ‘Swellies’, under two historic bridges, sharing stunning views and a wildlife in this stunning area.

The Mini Menai Strait Swim 😄
A 2.5km swim taking in the best bit of the whole Strait - The 'Swellies'! We will jump in, play in the Eddie currents, spot seals, find whirlpools and makes this experience last as long as we can. You won't want it to end!

What you'll get:
🔹A unique 'I Swam The Menai Strait!' swim cap!
🔹A fully licensed and insured event: You can rest assured you will be safe in our hands.
🔹Qualified guides: You’ll have no worries about getting lost, just relax and enjoy your surroundings and the swim!
