When you return back from the most dreamy stay at Grecotel Creta Palace in Rethymno you will still be thinking about those Cretan sunsets.

From the moment of arrival, it feels like stepping into a little slice of Greek island heaven: soft golden sand underfoot, gentle waves, and beautifully styled rooms that open out to the sea breeze. Days easily fall into a blissful routine of sunrise walks along the beach, lazy hours by the pool with an iced coffee in hand, and evenings filled with incredible food and warm, genuine hospitality.

What really stands out is the feeling of space and calm. There are plenty of quiet corners to unwind with a book, yet it is close enough to Rethymno’s old town for a wander through cobbled streets, tiny tavernas and harbourfront bars.

For anyone dreaming of a Greek escape with a touch of luxury, where it is easy to switch off but still explore, Grecotel Creta Palace is a fantastic choice.

If this sounds like the kind of holiday that would be perfect for you, send me a message to find out more and start planning your own Cretan getaway.

A few weeks ago I shared a post around “100 years of Kruger” and whether safari in the Greater Kruger still lives up to the hype.
The short answer? Absolutely.

But choosing the right safari lodge is where things become far more nuanced.
One of the biggest misconceptions around safari is that all lodges offer a similar experience at different price points. In reality, the differences can be huge not just in luxury level, but in the actual feel of the trip.

Things like:
the location of the lodge
guiding quality
traversing rights
lodge size
vehicle numbers
pace of safari
family vs adults-only atmosphere
walking safaris and specialist activities
all shape the experience far more than most people realise.

And honestly?
The most expensive lodge is not automatically the right fit for every traveller.
Some clients want ultra-luxury and privacy.
Some want exceptional guiding and serious wildlife focus.
Others want a relaxed first safari experience, family-friendly flexibility or a lodge that balances safari with wellness and downtime.

This is why safari planning should never be one-size-fits-all.

There are hundreds of lodges across Greater Kruger, and matching the right lodge to the right traveller is one of the most important parts of planning the trip well.
If South Africa safari is on your radar for 2026 or 2027 and you’d like help narrowing down the options, I’d love to help.

Luxury travel is shifting.

In 2026, the trips my clients are booking aren’t necessarily about the most expensive hotel or the most famous resort anymore. They’re about how the trip feels overall.
Slower pacing. Better routing. More privacy. More meaningful experiences. More time to actually connect with a destination and it’s people instead of racing through it.

I’m seeing travellers prioritise things like:
- longer stays over constant moving
- boutique hotels and villas over big chains
- wellness and nature
- private guides and local experiences
- smoother logistics
- trips that feel personal rather than packaged

The biggest luxury now?
Coming home feeling fulfilled instead of exhausted.
And honestly… that’s my favourite way to travel.

If you’re planning a 2026 trip and want help creating something thoughtful, balanced and genuinely tailored to how you like to travel, I’d love to help.

Most people only see the trip when everything goes perfectly.
What they don’t see is what happens behind the scenes when something doesn’t.

Flight cancellations, schedule changes and airline disruption are actually far more common than people realise, they’re just getting more media attention right now. As travel experts, it’s something we deal with regularly.

When a cancellation comes through, the first thing we assess is simple:
Where are you right now, and what’s the best possible solution for your situation?
If you’re already overseas, our priority is getting you home as smoothly and stress-free as possible. That might mean:

sourcing alternative flights
rearranging transfers
extending hotel stays
changing rail tickets
liaising with suppliers
rerouting parts of your itinerary

If you haven’t travelled yet, we’ll focus on finding alternatives with minimal impact to your trip whether that’s different flights, revised routing or adjusting your itinerary altogether.
And if a trip genuinely can’t be saved, we’ll help arrange an alternative holiday or process a refund where applicable.

This is the side of travel people rarely see.
The late nights. The airline hold music. The constant checking of routes and availability. The problem-solving.
But this is also exactly why having somebody in your corner matters.

When things go wrong, your travel expert becomes your biggest advocate fighting the battle with the airline for you, exploring every possible option and treating your trip as if it were our own.
If you’d like me in your corner should something go wrong, get in touch to plan your trip with added peace of mind.

If you’re planning Europe this summer, the biggest upgrade you can make isn’t just the hotel… it’s the itinerary.

Multi-centre trips are where Europe really comes into its own combining coastlines, cities, mountains and slower countryside into one seamless journey rather than staying in one place the entire time.

From pairing Croatia with Montenegro along the Adriatic, to a road trip through Slovenia, exploring Puglia properly, or combining Austria with the Italian lakes… these are the kinds of trips that feel far more considered, and far more memorable.

The key is getting the flow right: how you move between places, how long you spend in each, and how the trip builds from start to finish.

If you’re thinking about Europe for summer 2026 (or even 2027), this is exactly the kind of trip that benefits from planning early.

Not all “family-friendly” holidays are created equal… especially if your children need more than a pool and a kids club.

For families with busy, energetic kids, the right hotel can completely change the experience – we’re talkin watersports, sports academies, adventure programmes, exceptional childcare, family suites and enough going on to avoid hearing “I’m bored” by day two.

From activity-led favourites like Club Med and Neilson, to luxury all-inclusive ease with Ikos, big-wow family favourites like MAXX Royal, and more considered options like Sani, Falkensteiner, Forte Village or Feuerstein… the best family holidays aren’t just about where you go, but choosing the right style of resort for how your family actually travels.

Because sometimes luxury family travel isn’t about finding the fanciest hotel… it’s about finding the one where everyone genuinely has a better time.

If you’re already thinking ahead for summer 2026 or 2027, this is exactly where choosing well can make all the difference.
I’d love to help you plan your family holiday.

Some of the most extraordinary trips in the world aren’t always the easiest to reach and that’s often part of what makes them so special.

From the monasteries of Bhutan and the waterways of Botswana’s Okavango Delta, to Raja Ampat’s remote reefs, Mongolia’s vast wilderness, Madagascar’s surreal biodiversity and the polar extremes of Antarctica or Svalbard… these are the kinds of journeys that ask for a little more planning, but give back unforgettable perspective.

These aren’t typically “book it in five minutes” destinations - timing, routing, seasonality and logistics can make or break the experience. But when done well? They’re often the trips people talk about for the rest of their lives.

If your bucket list is leaning further afield, this is exactly where thoughtful, expert planning matters most.
Because sometimes the harder-to-reach places really are the ones worth going furthest for.

It’s one of those destinations that still feels slightly under the radar but not for long… and that’s exactly why timing matters!
