Wave Resort Bulgaria turned out to be the perfect family hotel and we had the best week there during May half term 🌊☀️

The highlights? The splash park, outdoor pools and water slides — our 2-year-old spent HOURS every single day splashing, sliding and living his best life 💦😂

The beach was just a short stroll from our room, with shallow, calm water and a lovely clean shoreline 🏖️

A short 30-minute transfer from the airport made travelling a little easier, and it was packed with other families, so nobody batted an eyelid when our toddler was running around like a lunatic 🤪

There was also a playground, kids’ club, mini disco and soft play to keep little ones entertained from morning until night.

That said... travelling with a 2-year-old is never quite as relaxing as social media sometimes makes it look 😅 Between snack requests, refusing food, late bedtimes and a toddler with endless energy, it definitely wasn’t all sunshine and cocktails. But seeing how much fun he had made every chaotic moment worth it ❤️

Would we go back? Absolutely. ✈️🇧🇬

It made me feel so sad and question everything when my 2 year old was asking to go home on day 1 of our family holiday.

I was thinking maybe we shouldn’t have come on holiday.
Is it normal for him to be like this? And a million other things!

But then I had to remind myself…

He’d had a huge day of travelling, missed his nap, gone to bed late, barely eaten and was suddenly in a completely new environment. That’s a LOT for a little person.

For toddlers, “home” often means safe, familiar, rested, regulated.

So instead of panicking, we slowed everything right down. Extra cuddles, playtime in our room, familiar foods, a good nap and no pressure to do loads.

And honestly it helped so much 🤍

Posting this because social media can make family holidays look perfect, but sometimes the first day is just about helping everyone settle in… especially sensitive little ones. Have you had a similar experience? It would be nice to know it’s not just us 😅

Ok I know it’s not all men but surely it’s not just my partner who’s like this?! 😂 The one with his foot is my personal favourite!

With the weather starting to warm up again ☀️ here’s a little complication of some of the parks we regularly visit in and around Bury St Edmunds📍

I need to try more parks with my toddler as I’m sure there’s some great ones I’ve not tried yet.

We’ve got our holiday soon so I’ve started to organise my little boy’s flight bag ✈️

Everything I ordered was from Amazon including the bag - an essential for every trip we have! I always get new toys for him so he’s more interested in them when he first sees them.

The only other things I’m going to add is snacks (obviously!), a couple of his favourite cars 🚘 and another new book or two. And we’ll have his favourite shows as back up - this can be useful for take off and landing.

Is there anything else you’d pack that I’ve missed? Let me know any recommendations in the comments below ⬇️

I’ll keep you all updated on how our flight went and what toys kept him busy for longest.

Two weeks into our first term of Rugby Tots and we’re already hooked 🏉

My little boy is only 2 so he doesn’t fully understand the team games yet or the whole “waiting your turn” thing 😅 but he always has the best time.

He kept saying “rugby tots” after the class finished which says it all.

We spoke to some other parents who said the confidence and development they see after a few months is unbelievable, so I can’t wait to watch him grow ⭐️

We’re a big rugby family so even though the classes are a bit of an investment, for us it’s completely worth it ❤️

We’ve got a holiday coming up soon so thought I’d share the things I’ll never tell you about travelling with a toddler.

Because toddlers are unpredictable at the best of times let alone on planes, in a new country or a new time zone!

So what I will share is real experiences. What has worked for us as well as what hasn’t! And reviews and recommendations because when I book a family holiday I always look at what others have thought of the place ☀️ ✈️

It’s the start of May… and for a lot of families, that only means one thing 👀

Holiday season is officially creeping in ✈️ 😎

We’re actually going away soon with our two-year-old — and I’ll be sharing all the real, honest bits along the way (the good, the chaotic, and everything in between).
