Over the past 2 winter seasons Dart yacht maintenance has had the massive task of getting this Swan 55 back to top condition.
At the end of the 2022 season she was lifted and shored up at The Dolphin Boatyard Galmpton where the underside was peeled back ready for a complete osmosis treatment. Modifications made by a previous owner to the keel and rudder were also removed and rudder bearings changed before the mammoth task of re laminating filling and fairing with epoxy. As if that wasn't enough work to be doing all of the topsides were being boarded back ready for paint and teak decks were also being routed out and re caulked. I honestly swear we must be crazy ðĪŠ ðĪŠ ðĪŠ Getting to the start of the 2023 season the hull was painted, underside copper coated, prop and shaft coated with propspeed, decks re caulked and sanded.
Under pressure and out of time a rough boot top was painted in so she could head off to qualify for the fast net race later on in the year.
End of the season 2023 she was once again lifted at the yard which having been in the water for a year has perfectly marked the true waterline enabling us to measure and mark the boot top perfectly que how many months of rain?????? Well after a break in the weather so we could get some paint on she has finally relaunched this morning and she is looking stunning ð ð ð ð
One very happy owner
