Part 1 ✈️
A Day in the Life of Rhi.Lax.Travel… Planning the cheapest cruise I could find!
I only had five days of annual leave, so I set myself a challenge:
Could I find the cheapest cruise that still felt a bit special?
Instead of choosing a destination first, I approached this the same way I do for my clients. Comparing dates, routes, cabin types, and inclusions across multiple sailings to find the best value for the time I had available.
After hours of searching and comparing options, I found a 4-night Bahamas & Key West sailing from Fort Lauderdale on Celebrity Reflection, departing 19 January.
The cruise came to £559 per person in total, including taxes and tips, which worked out at roughly £140 per night each.
That included:
• All food onboard
• Classic drinks package
• Basic Wi-Fi
• An AquaClass cabin with spa access
• Dining at Blue (the AquaClass restaurant)
Flights were £549 return in economy, and before boarding I stayed at Generator Miami Hostel for around £150 per night for two people.
What most people don’t see is how long this actually takes to find. Deals like this don’t just appear — they come from hours of comparing dates, inclusions, and pricing combinations.
That’s exactly what I do as a travel agent.
