It was strange visiting Wells yesterday without Badgers! Owing to a driver shortage at Wells, I was offered overtime on the 376. It was great to see Wells depot celebrating their history, with pictures of both Badgerline and Bristol Omnibus vehicles operating around Wells posted around the depot.

With the Imber Bus event this weekend, we had a couple of visitors at Weston Island. This year saw TUK’s 3124 staying overnight Saturday to be charged before heading back to the Capital. It’s seen next to our somewhat recently delivered E200 EV, 43001. 43001 is due to be sent off for repaint, as it was delivered in a slightly wrong shade of green.

With South Cerney well and truly over, it was back to the Saturday job this weekend. With Badgers wanting new rear suspension components, I picked up some overtime today too. I’m oddly fond of the E200 MMCs we have at Bath, the steering lock isn’t fantastic but overall a pleasant drive.

I had hoped to get a few night shots of Badgers at South Cerney this year, but the evenings can almost be as hectic as the day. This was one of the few shots I managed to get - and don’t worry I’m not one of those menaces that drive around with their fog lights constantly on, I only switched them on for the photo 😂

A slightly bad end to a great weekend. We were busy providing the Kemble rail station shuttles for the Gloucestershire Vintage and Steam Extravaganza, however due to the incredibly poor conditions of the road, on the second to final trip a pothole dislodged one of the rear airbags so we were unable to proceed. My great friends jumped straight in to help, and we were able to nurse Badgers back to the outstation. New bags and pedestals will shortly be ordered!

We’ll be attending the Gloucestershire Vintage & Country Extravaganza this weekend, whilst also providing low-floor accessible Kemble railway shuttles to and from the event (on behalf of Bristol Vintage Bus Group) on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. As always, feel free to pop over and say hi if you see us!

(N.b: as the event is held in a field, there is no raised kerb or level area for us to pull up to. Those with mobility issues may require additional assistance from a carer/helper when boarding or alighting at the airfield)

A shot I couldn’t miss was of 31753, 32021, and 66726 lined up at the Bristol Bus Show today. An era when Volvo was the go-to supplier of chassis’ for First.
