When the customer promises everything will be packed and ready on moving day… and we believe them AGAIN! 😂🤝

That's one FULL storage unit! 😳📦

📍 Bromsgrove ➡️ Henley-in-Arden

Another busy day for the ShiftMate team, helping a customer move their belongings out of storage and back home! 🏡🚚

We started by emptying the packed storage unit in Bromsgrove, making plenty of trips with the trolleys before loading everything safely into the van.

Then it was off to Henley-in-Arden to unload everything into the customer's garage. 💪

And yes… we managed to fit it all in! 😂

Whether you're moving into storage, out of storage or between properties, we're always happy to help.

Not Just a House Move! 🏠💪

🏠 Another 3-bedroom house move completed in Great Barr, Birmingham! 🚚💪

A busy day for the ShiftMate team, and this one involved a lot more than simply loading and unloading furniture!

🛋️ Furniture carefully protected for transport
🔧 Children's cabin bed dismantled and rebuilt
🛏️ Double bed dismantled and reassembled
🛋️ Sofa assembled at the new property
💪 Plenty of heavy lifting, stairs and teamwork!

We even made a little friend along the way 🐢 and were treated to a lovely cob by the customer to keep us going! 🥪😂

Finished off by getting the furniture rebuilt and everything into its new place, ready for the family to settle in.

It's these little extras that make moving day that bit easier for our customers.

When the customer says they've found someone £300 cheaper… 🤡😂

Another student move complete! 🎓🚚

📍 Birmingham ➡️ London

Another busy day on the road with ShiftMate!

Collected everything from the student's accommodation in Birmingham, loaded it safely using our moving equipment, and headed down to London for delivery straight into their new room. 📦🏠

A little behind-the-scenes look at moving day, filmed through my Ray-Ban Meta glasses! 👓

Whether it's a few boxes or an entire house, we're always happy to help.

Big or small, we shift it all! 💪

How Much Did This 2-Day Journey Cost?! 😳⛽

Ever wondered what a 2-day, UK-wide removals journey actually costs? 😳🚚

This one took me from Birmingham to Preston, up to Glasgow, down to London and finally back home to Birmingham!

DAY 1 📍
🚚 Preston delivery
🍔 Lunch at Tebay Services (still the best motorway services in the UK!)
📦 Glasgow collection
🏨 Overnight hotel stay

DAY 2 📍
🚚 Glasgow ➡️ London
🍔 Another cheeky stop at Tebay Services
📦 London delivery completed
🌙 Long drive back to Birmingham

And here's what those two days cost me…

⛽ Fuel: £270
🏨 Hotel: £70
🍔 Food: £30–£40

💸 TOTAL: £370–£380!

And that's before paying myself, tax, vehicle wear and tear, insurance, maintenance and all the other costs of running a removals business.

It's easy to look at the price of a removal and think it's expensive, but there's a lot more going on behind the scenes than simply driving a van from A to B.

Still, I wouldn't change it. Every day is different, and I get to travel all over the country doing what I enjoy. 💪

Although the fuel prices could definitely do with coming down… 😂🤬

He Cancelled While I Was On My Way 😳

This is why being flexible can make all the difference with a move 😅

I was already on my way to Durham for a student collection when, around 2 hours before arriving, I received a message saying his accommodation in London had unexpectedly fallen through and he might need to cancel.

Slight problem… I was already well on my way. 😳🚚

Rather than cancelling everything, I offered another solution - I'd still collect his belongings and keep them safely in storage until he had somewhere to move into.

Problem solved. 📦✅

We completed the Durham collection as planned, kept everything safely stored and 2 weeks later, when his new accommodation was ready, delivered everything down to London.

Moving plans don't always go perfectly - sometimes you just need to find another solution. 💪

All This… For ONE Table?! 😳

Just one table to move… but that doesn't mean you just throw it in the back of the van 🚚😅

Our customer needed this heavy wooden table moved from Walmley ➡️ Shard End and wanted to make sure it was properly protected throughout.

So we took care of the whole thing:

Dismantled 🔧

Wrapped & protected 🛡️

Transported 🚚

Reassembled at the new property ✅

A small Man & Van job in Birmingham, but the same care we'd give to a full house move.

Big or small, we shift it all.

When “that’s everything” definitely isn’t everything 😂
