✈️ SOLO TRAVEL… LET’S TALK ABOUT IT. 🌍

Even after doing lots of solo travel, I still sometimes think:

“Can I really do this on my own?”
“Will I feel lonely?”
“Will I feel like a saddo?” 🙈 and I tend to work wherever I go .

The truth is, some trips are easier than others. A group tour can feel completely different because you’re surrounded by people with a similar outlook and purpose. 🥰

But here’s what I’ve learnt:

✨ Doing it on your own is 100% better than not doing it at all. ✨

Once you get over that initial hump, it becomes so much easier — and you realise just how capable you are. 🌎

Majorca has been boiling and sunny for weeks, then I arrive for 3 days and suddenly the weather decides to have a personality change. 😀😂 It is just about to have an almighty storm.

Very ungracious, seeing as I’m celebrating my last birthday in my 50s today. 🥳

You can’t control the weather, so I may have to have a few more glasses of fizz to take away the pain.

Not bad for day one! 😂 I think she’s already ticked off half the animal kingdom and she’s only just getting started! 🐘🦁🦓🦒

Even better this is her second safari and I managed to track down her original safari guide called 'Moses'. who made the trip for her last time. It is the little touches that mean so much to people. Get a travel consultant that really cares and goes that extra mile. Preferably me of course 😀😀

🚨 **A little something different from my normal travel posts… but I thought this was worth sharing.** ❤️

If you’re anything like me, you probably worry about your daughter, son, mum, friends — basically anyone you love when they’re travelling, walking home, walking their dog or simple out on their own.

I’ve been looking for a **good personal safety alarm** for my daughter for a while and came across the Ami Alarm . I was genuinely really impressed with it, so I thought I’d share in case it helps somebody else too.

It’s designed by women with personal safety in mind and has an incredibly loud alarm ( jet-engine level! 😳), flashing red and blue deterrent lights and also connects with your mobile phone for additional emergency features linking into the police . It’s small enough to pop into a handbag, pocket or attach to your keys — so perfect for everyday life but also something I think would be brilliant for travelling. ✈️🌍

I registered on their website and received a 20% discount code, so mine worked out at around £20.

🤯 This week’s travel tip genuinely blew my mind — especially as I only discovered it earlier this year!

Did you know that the Google app on your phone can instantly translate foreign writing into English using your camera? 📱 Simply open the Google app, tap the camera icon (see below pic) , select Translate, then point it at whatever you need help with. (if you don't use google you may need to download in your app store)

Let’s use Japan as an example… 🇯🇵 You come across a sign displaying 立入禁止, but you have absolutely no idea what it means. Point your phone’s camera at it and Google Lens instantly translates it into “Do Not Enter.”

It works on signs, menus, instructions and even food packaging — such a simple little travel tip, but one that could be incredibly useful when you’re away! ✈️

I have done an example below but it can work on anything - really helpful 💬
