PSG

Going to the PSG stadium, "Le Parc des Princes" was a really wonderful, unique and totally worthwhile experience.

Especially after so long without having attended an event due to the pandemic, the feelings of excitement and adrenaline were great.

Seeing so many people, all celebrating the sport and watching so many soccer stars like Messi, Di María and Neymar play together was definitely an experience that I will never forget and one that I recommend doing if you have the option to do so.

Palace of Versailles

If you are in Paris, you cannot miss the opportunity to visit the Palace of Versailles and its gardens.

It is located just 19km away from the city. Getting there is very easy, you just need to take the train line C of the RER, which is the one that connects Versailles with Paris. If you have your Navigo pass for the week, or weekend, which normally works in the 5 zones, you don't need to buy an extra ticket, but if not, it will cost you 3,65€ per trip.

European residents under 26 years old can enter the palace for free and if there are no events in the gardens they can also visit them for free, otherwise the cost of the tickets is 18€ per adult for the museum and 10€ for the gardens.

It is definitely worth to visit, it is a palace full of history, which has been extremely well preserved throughout the years. The gardens are truly wonderful and huge, they are a kind of labyrinth in which you can spend hours walking around. This Palace is one of the largest and most famous palaces in the world.

The Palace served as a royal residence from 1682 to 1789. Its construction began under the command of King Louis XIII, followed by Louis XIV, who rebuilt part of the palace and enlarged it, thus becoming the royal residence. Louis XV and Louis XVI also resided in this palace.

Now you know, save a day in your itinerary to visit the Palace of Versailles and its gardens.

Food in Paris!

Paris not only stands out as the city of light and love, as one of the most beautiful cities in the world, it also stands out for its gastronomy.

Many people visit the city just to try some of the typical dishes of the region, and if you are planning to visit the city, make a bucket list of the dishes you should try in Paris.

Here you can find my list of some typical dishes, I already tried or I will do it soon.

For breakfast: Croissants, Pain au chocolat, Omelette and a good coffee.

For lunch, while walking in the city or resting in a Parisian park: the typical Paninis, filled with ham and cheese, with chicken, beef and other ingredients.

For the meal: an Onion soup as a starter, without a doubt my favorite dish. you must try it!

followed by a Croque Madame or Monsieur, Ratatouille or a Duck à l'orange. If you like something more exotic you can try Escargots snails, or the Oysters.

And as for desserts, there is a tremendous variety, but my favorite ones are Crème Brûlée, Crêpes and Macarons to go.

In addition to that, the cheeses, salamis and wine that you will find in Paris are really delightful and very varied. People usually make picnics and bring different types of cheese, salami and wine or champagne.

So now you know, prepare your palate and appetite if you go to Paris!

Galeries Lafayette

This shopping mall is one of the most famous and prestigious in Paris. It is not as popular as the tourist attractions that I mentioned before like the Eiffel Tower or the Louvre museum, but it is definitely worth to visit it.

Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Dior, and many other fashion and beauty brands are present in the mall.

However, people do not only go there to shop. On the top floor there are cafes and restaurants, but the highlight for tourists is to go up to the terrace from where you have a panoramic view of Paris.

Christmas time is approaching and that is when the decoration of the Galeries Lafayette is really worth to be seen.

The first day has come!
This is a nice route in which you will get to see most of the emblematic places of Paris, and you can go up to the Eiffel tower and if you want visit the Louvre museum.

You can start the tour and take the metro to the Georg V station, so you can walk a few meters along the Champs Elysées until you reach the Arc de Triomphe, you can spend a couple of minutes there, take pictures and appreciate how big and beautiful it is.

Afterwards you can walk along the Av. Kléber, along this avenue there are several cafés where you can have breakfast starting for about 8 euros per person. You walk until you reach the Trocadero, from where the view of the Eiffel tower is spectacular. It is one of the best places to appreciate the it.

Walk down to the tower and if you have bought your ticket in advance, you will avoid long lines and you will be able to go up the tower. There are two options, either you go up the stairs or you buy the ticket to go up and down in the elevator. You will spend between 1 and 1 1/2 hours here.

Time to continue the tour to the Hôtel des Invalides, then cross the Seine river to reach the Place de la Concorde where the Obelisk of Louxur is located.

From there you can walk through the Tuileries gardens until you get to the Louvre museum. If you want to go inside, it is estimated that you spend 3 to 4 hours here. Or if you just want to see the most famous pieces such as the Monalisa, you can spend up to 2 hours here.

In the afternoon you can go to the Cathédrale of Notré-Dame, in its surroundings there are various restaurants where you can have lunch or a coffee and recover your energies.

The walk is about to end, there are only two more stops left for the first day, which are to go to the Pantheon and then walk to the Luxembourg gardens.

This is the end of the first day's tour!

In the evening you can go out again and return to the Eiffel Tower by metro to see it full of lights and shine.

Most of the people come to paris for only a few days, usually on weekends, and let me tell you that this is enough time to visit the most touristic places of the city.

Due to the size of the city and its very good public transportation connections, it is very easy to tour the city in only two days, having even gone up to the Eiffel tower and entered the Louvre museum for example.

The best advice I can give you is to plan your tour in advance and buy the tickets to museums online, so you will save time and avoid giant lines because in most museums and attractions the tickets are sold with a schedule, that is to say that you are assigned a time at which you must arrive and enter the place.

Regarding your mobility, you can choose between walking, going by metro or bus, or renting a bicycle. These three options are the most economical and in my opinion the most practical. With the metro you can go from one end of the city to the other in less than an hour.

If you opt to use the subway and buses I recommend buying a weekend pass or if you are not going to travel a lot you can buy a strip of 10 tickets which is cheaper than buying single tickets.

In the following entries I will post the route for each day in Paris.
