Phantasialand in Bruhl, Germany is considered one of the best in Europe. It’s incredible theming and how all attractions are packed into such a small area is something to be seen. Here are a few tips and tricks that may help if you are planning a trip.
TRAVEL - We have found travelling from London Stansted being the cheapest and most convenient flights to make the most from your trip. There is usually a 7.00-8.00am flight and a 21:00-22:00 every day with Ryanair. We go for the early morning flight and get to Cologne/Bonn airport for around 9:00am leaving you the rest of the day to explore. You can get an Uber from the airport to Phantasialand for around €60 or you can follow signs for the train station at the airport and buy tickets for a one way to Köln hbf this costs around €3.50. This way you can spend half a day looking around cologne and checking out the Kölner Dom (Cathedral) which is free entry and well worth a look. If your peckish or fancy a Kolsch, Gaffel am Dom opposite the Cathedral is well worth a visit and has a great food selection at a reasonable price. You can then get a train from Köln hbf to Bruhl station and then grab the Phantasialand shuttle to the parks or for ease grab an Uber from Cologne and this usually costs €35-40.
ACCOMMODATION - The h+hotel in bruhl is a great local hotel which is a 30min walk to the park however it is a uphill walk. If you don’t fancy the walk the hotel can arrange a taxi for you for around €10-12. If you do this be sure to book a taxi for your return visit at the hotel as this is easier and avoids the difficultly of trying to book a taxi when the park closes. The hotel is nice and clean and offers a great breakfast. We payed €158 for 2 people for 2 nights with breakfast on our last visit. You can stay on site but this demands a larger price tag. There are 3 on site hotels, Charles Lindbergh, matamba and ling bao. They are all beautifully themed and are worth the extra if you have the spare cash. You can also stay in Cologne however it is 30mins away by car.
TICKETS - Buying through the Phantasialand website is definitely the best place to buy tickets and they start from as little as €26 on selected dates.
