በዛሬው እለት 85ኛው የአርበኞች ቀን እየተከበረ ነው። እለቱ ቆራጥ ኢትዮጵያውያን አርበኞች ዳግም ኢትዮጵያን ለመውረር የመጣውን ፋሺስት ጣልያን በዱር በገደል ለአምስት አመታት ተዋግተው የመከቱበት፤ የሀገራቸውን ነፃነት ያስከበሩበት ደማቅ የድል በዓል ነው።

Today marks the celebration of the 85th Patriots Day. The day commemorates the heroic Ethiopian patriots who fought against the invading fascist Italian forces for five years, resisting occupation and ultimately restoring their country’s independence. It is a glorious day of victory and national pride.

🔰New Archaeological Discovery in Afar, Ethiopia

The Ethiopian Heritage Authority has announced a new archaeological discovery in the Middle Awash research project within the Afar Rift Valley. Fossils of ancient Homo sapiens uncovered, that dated back over 100,000 years. Led by Dr. Yonas Beyene and a global team of scientists from 24 countries, the research, recently published in the prestigious journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, fills a critical historical gap between 900,000 and 200,000 years ago. These findings provide vital evidence of human evolutionary transitions, showcasing thousands of sophisticated stone tools that illustrate the early technological discoveries of the human race.

The excavations at the Halibi site revealed that Afar region was once a lush, forested landscape, evidenced by the fossilized remains of primates, rodents, birds, and horned animals. Director General Abebaw Ayalew emphasized that the discovery of these fossils and artifacts reaffirms Ethiopia’s status as the Cradle of Mankind and highlights the favorable environmental conditions along the ancient Awash River that supported early human life.

በዛሬው እለት በክርስትና እምነት ተከታዮች ዘንድ የጌታችን መድሀኒታችን ኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ የስቅለት በዓል ተከብሮ ውሏል። እለቱ በኢትዮጵያ ኦርቶዶክስ ተወህዶ ቤተክርስትያን በተለየ እጅግ ልዩ በሆነ የጸሎትና የስግደት ስርዓት ይከበራል። ጌታችን መድሀኒታችን ኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ በዚህች ቀን የተቀበለውን መከራና ስቃይ በማስታወስ ምዕመናን ስግደትን ይሰግዳሉ፣ ጾምን ይጾማሉ፣ በልዩ ተመስጥኦ ሆነው የጌታን ህማም ትምህርት ይማራሉ።

🔰Ethiopia to Launch 7-Day Free Transit Visa for Travelers

In a major move to boost stopover tourism, the Ethiopian Ministry of Tourism has announced a new policy offering transit passengers a free visa for up to seven days. State Minister Sileshi Girma confirmed that the Council of Ministers recently approved the initiative, which allows travelers passing through Bole International Airport to explore the country for 24 hours to one week without any visa fees.

The program aims to transform long layovers into tourism opportunities, encouraging visitors to experience Addis Ababa and nearby attractions rather than staying inside the terminal. To ensure a seamless experience, the Ministry of Tourism, Immigration and Citizenship Service, and Ethiopian Airlines have signed a tripartite agreement to coordinate the rollout of this service.
