ኢራንቡቲ 44 ታቦታት ወደ ባህረ ጥምቀት የሚወርዱባት ድንቅ ምድር ናት፡፡ ጥምቀት በኢራንቡቲ መከበር የጀመረው ከ600 ዓመታት በፊት በ14ኛው መቶ ክፍለ ዘመን ነው፡፡ በአጼ ልብነ ድንግል ዘመነ መንግስት ኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ በተጠመቀበት የዮርዳኖስ ወንዝ አምሳል ዳግማዊ ዮርዳኖስ እየተባለ በሚጠረው የሸንኮራ ወንዝ ላይ የሚከበረው የኢራንቡቲ ጥምቀት በኢትዮጵያ ከሚከበሩ ደማቅ የጥምቀት በዓላት ቀዳሚው እንደነበር ይነገራል፡፡

ኢራንቡቲ በሰሜን ሸዋ ዞን ምንጃር ሸንኮራ ወረዳ ውስጥ የምትገኝ የገጠር ከተማ ስትሆን ከአዲስ አበባ ደቡብ ምስራቅ በሞጆ መንገድ(መስመር) 146 ኪ.ሜ. ወይም ከደብረ ብረሃን 276 ኪ.ሜ ርቀት ላይ ትገኛለች፡፡
