Next week Nigel will be travelling to the Netherlands with the Balearic Marine Cluster to visit some of the world’s leading superyacht builders and industry organisations, including SYBAss, Feadship, Oceanco, Vitters and Balk Shipyard.

For anyone involved in large yacht construction, Dutch shipbuilding continues to represent some of the highest standards in engineering, innovation and craftsmanship anywhere in the world.

One of the organisations playing an important role behind the scenes is SYBAss, the Superyacht Builders Association. Their work extends far beyond shipbuilding itself, helping shape regulation, professional standards, innovation and the future operational realities of the modern superyacht industry.

We are looking forward to sharing more from the visit over the coming weeks and taking you behind the scenes of an significant part of the industry that continues to influence the global market.

Meet Nigel Wales

For more than three decades, Nigel Wales has built his reputation in the yachting industry through experience, technical understanding and long-term relationships, not sales talk.

With an honours degree in Naval Architecture and over 20 years as a yacht broker, Nigel brings a rare combination of technical knowledge and commercial expertise to every project. He is as comfortable discussing engine rooms, refits and performance as he is navigating contracts, negotiations and international transactions.

After founding Arrival Yachts in Mallorca in 2008, Nigel built the company through hard work, integrity and a highly personal approach to client relationships. Today, Arrival is recognised as one of the Balearics’ respected boutique brokerages, specialising in yachts from 20m to 45m and serving an international client base.

Unlike large corporate brokerages, clients work directly with Nigel and his team throughout the process. Decisions are made quickly, communication stays personal, and every transaction is approached with care, discretion and attention to detail.

Behind Arrival Yachts is a close-knit team with deep experience across brokerage, yacht operations, sailing, management and client services.

Based in Puerto Portals, the team combines international backgrounds with real-world maritime experience and a shared passion for the industry.

Nigel Wales

Founder and Managing Director, Nigel brings decades of international yacht brokerage experience alongside a background in Naval Architecture. His technical understanding, industry knowledge and long-standing relationships form the backbone of Arrival Yachts.

Marta Stefaniak

With more than eight years at Arrival Yachts, Marta plays a key role in yacht sales and client services. Her international outlook, organisational expertise and calm professionalism help keep every detail running smoothly behind the scenes.

Alex Bonet Smart

Alex began his yachting career as crew before progressing to captain roles and transatlantic crossings. His hands-on operational experience, sailing background and brokerage knowledge bring practical insight to both buyers and sellers.

Joan Binimelis

Coming from a lifelong connection to the sea and combining captain experience with a background in business management, Joan brings both technical and commercial understanding to the brokerage world.
