NAO Cargobikes NAÖ Cargobikes “Zure zama eramaten” maitasunarekin eta eskuz eraikitako zama eramateko bizikletak. We’re looking for you!

NAÖ Cargobikes “Riding your load” hand made cargobikes with love. For every frame I wish to build, I spend the time and effort to deliver a unique and long lasting frame, as in the XVIth century the High quality Basque nao-ships were built. The mixing of Viking and Basque culture built up technological hight quality naos as this bike“The Bike that looks at the sea”

NAÖ Cargobikes has three key m

otivations

Sustainability, born in Donostia- san sebastian Basque country coast city as a lifeboat or cycle logistic for urban sustainability transport, awake and aware of the immense value of our earth, oceans as well as for people who loves riding in urban areas and don’t see inconvenient on carrying their loads by bike. When I rode my first cargo bicycle carrying my daughter, neither of us could stop smiling, and wanting to share that experience with others is one of our key motivators. My wish is to make as soon as possible a bicycle suitable to our needs and environment. Cargo bikes along short medium urban transport can be very beneficial. Can work in many areas: Small companies, medium-sized, light orders or transport, municipal services, trade and purchase individual families or children pick up from school or messageries. Craftsman, bespoke bicycles – authentic, behind Is a one man workshop, a brand made for those who consider they are set apart from others and are thirsty of style, loves the authentic craftsmen work and hand made and tailored bicycles. I aim to build cargobikes for people that consider all the facts of the building as the whole project and appreciate the invested time and love in. I put my effort on recovering the capital knowledge of how a bicycle is made becoming a bike tailor´s, as well as a bike designed for the manufacture and promotion of the local microeconomics and that minimize the impacts on the environment. I am using Steel (Cr-Mo 4130 aeronautic tubes) that alows less pollution than other new technological materials. Spreading knowhow, My goal is to become a reference frame builder and create a school, sharing my knowledge about how to build a bicycle and considering our frame building roots as a knowhow to be shared. I realised I didn't want just to sell frames. “I wanted to share the joy of making something; the craft of creating something unique and sustainable". It is a pleasure inviting you to the bamboo cargobike frame building clases.

This 29’r is made from Walnut (dark) and Cedar which is laminated and then hand shaped.

The frame has a carbon stringer down the middle to add rigidity. It is finished with Danish Oil and then waxed to give it shine.

Whilst it is not about the weight, rather about the aesthetics and the ride, the bike weighs around 14kg as shown.

It took about 5 months to create this bike.

The Brooks saddle and grips really finish the bike. The first thing people notice is the saddle then ask if the frame is real wood.
