From 25 February 2026 visitors to the UK, who need a visa, will get an eVisa only.

eVisas replace visa vignettes stickers in passports.

🏢 🪪Applicants will attend the Visa Application Centre only once, to confirm their identity. Your passport will be returned to you on the same day. Once granted, eVisa holders will be directed to create a UKVI account.

Visitors with a physical vignette can continue to use this until they expire.

أكدت نتائج برنامج التقييم الدولي لسلامة الطيران (IASA) التابع لإدارة الطيران الفيدرالي الأمريكية (FAA) المستوى المتقدم لمنظومة السلامة والرقابة في الطيران المدني المصري.

أعمال التدقيق، التي جرت من 8 إلى 10 فبراير 2026، ركزت على توافق القوانين والتشريعات المصرية مع معايير «الإيكاو» خاصة تراخيص العاملين، صلاحية الطائرات، والعناصر الأساسية لنظام الرقابة على السلامة.

أظهرت النتائج فاعلية الهيكل التنظيمي، وتوافر كوادر فنية مؤهلة، والالتزام بتطبيق أعلى معايير السلامة الجوية، مع إشادة أمريكية بالاحترافية والانضباط.

التقييم يدعم ثقة المجتمع الدولي في منظومة السلامة الجوية المصرية، ويعزز مكانة مصر عالميًا ويسهم في دعم حركة الطيران بين مصر والولايات المتحدة.

The results of the International Aviation Safety Assessment (IASA) program, conducted by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), have confirmed the advanced level of Egypt’s civil aviation safety and oversight system.

The audit mission, carried out from 8 to 10 February 2026, focused on the alignment of Egyptian laws and regulations with the standards of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), particularly in the areas of personnel licensing, aircraft airworthiness, and the core elements of the safety oversight system.

The findings demonstrated the effectiveness of Egypt’s organizational structure, the availability of qualified technical personnel, and a strong commitment to applying the highest aviation safety standards. The U.S. team praised the professionalism and discipline observed during the assessment.

This evaluation strengthens international confidence in Egypt’s aviation safety system, enhances the country’s global standing, and supports increased air traffic between Egypt and the United States.

An exemplary act of honesty took place at Sphinx International Airport, where Ayman Ibrahim, a cleaning supervisor at GECO company, demonstrated outstanding integrity and professionalism. He found a bag containing a large amount of cash and foreign currencies, and immediately handed it over to the competent authorities at the airport without hesitation.
Captain Wael El-Nashar, Chairman and CEO of the Egypt Airports Company, honored the employee in recognition of his honesty, emphasizing that such behavior is a role model to be followed. He noted that this reflects the high level of professionalism within Egypt’s airports and strengthens the culture of responsibility and integrity among all employees.

Un acto ejemplar de honestidad tuvo lugar en el Aeropuerto Internacional Sphinx, donde Ayman Ibrahim, supervisor de limpieza de la empresa GECO, demostró un alto nivel de integridad y profesionalismo al encontrar una bolsa que contenía una gran cantidad de dinero y divisas extranjeras. Sin dudarlo, la entregó de inmediato a las autoridades competentes del aeropuerto.

قال رئيس مجلس إدارة الشركة القابضة لمصر للطيران أحمد عادل، إن الشركة سوف تتسلم 12 طائرة جديدة خلال العام الحالي في أكبر دفعة تحديث تشهدها الشركة منذ سنوات.

رئيس الشركة أكد أن استلام طائرة إيرباص A350-900 يمثل بداية مرحلة توسع تشمل 34 طائرة جديدة من طرازي إيرباص A350 وبوينج 737-8 ماكس حتى 2031، مع تسلم 13 طائرة إضافية في 2027، في خطوة تستهدف رفع الكفاءة التشغيلية وتعزيز القدرة التنافسية للناقل الوطني إقليميا ودوليا.

The crescent moon of Ramadan- when Muslims worldwide fast from dawn to dust- will be born immediately after the conjunction at 2:02 PM Cairo local time on Tuesday, 29 Sha’ban 1447 AH, corresponding to February 17, 2026 (the official sighting day).

In Islam, the start of a new Islamic (Hijri) month is determined by the sighting of the crescent at the sunset of the twenty-ninth day of the preceding Hijri month, according to Amir Hussein Hassan, professor in the National Research Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics, in comments to Egypt Today.

To mark the beginning of the new month, two conditions must be met: First, the crescent moon must have been born at least four hours before sunset on that day. Second, the new crescent must remain visible above the horizon for no less than five minutes.

He further explained that in Islam, a day begins at sunset and lasts until sunset of the following day, encompassing a full night and a full day.

Some countries, like Saudi Arabia, rely mainly on naked-eye sightings of the crescent, adhering to the approach practiced during the era of Prophet Muhammad (Peace and Blessings Be Upon Him), while other countries depend on scientific astronomical calculations.
