Today we welcomed our guests and eased gently into the journey with a day of history, culture, and a touch of railway heritage — always a meaningful way to start an expedition designed around the spirit of classic travel.

Santiago offers the perfect introduction: elegant, historic, and full of stories that set the tone for what lies ahead. From the city’s historic centre to its preserved locomotives, it’s a reminder that great journeys are best experienced step by step, not rushed.

Tomorrow we travel to Valparaíso for the day, before gradually making our way south toward the vast landscapes of Patagonia — where the true wilderness portion of the expedition begins.
