ABOUT DEFINING SCANDINAVIA
Defining Scandinavia presents design and living brands in an unique universe aimed at a specified target audience. The fair seeks to be the preferred trading platform of all leading and upcoming brands in the field of Scandinavian design and living. Defining Scandinavia presents a new agenda on how to deal with design in a broader perspective. We create this by bringing

a Scandinavian and international audience together in one place – one fair – with a well-prepared stylish exhibition of design and living products. The common denominator for the exhibition is its unique Scandinavian spirit – shared by exhibitors as well as organizers. Great ideas have been added to the agenda, both for marketing and relating to cultural trends – down to the very last detail. It is a choice and an awareness of the things that surrounds us in our daily lives. Defining Scandinavia has been created to meet this enhanced outlook on lifestyle. Defining Scandinavia is held in synergy with Copenhagen Fashion Week. This strategy emphasizes the obvious potential of expanding the international buyers’ radar to include a focus on design and living. It is time to think holistically. PRACTICAL INFORMATION
Time & place
Defining Scandinavia will be based in Copenhagen, becoming a part of the city's ambition to be the center of future international events. Defining Scandinavia is held twice a year in Øksnehallen in Copenhagen during Copenhagen Fashion Week. First fair:
January 31st - February 3rd 2013
All days 10 AM – 5 PM.

Øksnehallen is a beautiful and powerful exhibition venue located only two minutes from Copenhagen Central Station, surrounded by hotels, bars, cafees and a vibrant business atmosphere. Registration - exhibitor

Who can exhibit? All companies and manufacturers who market or sell products and services that meets the fair’s concept - communicating Scandinavian design and living. Admission
Free entrance for visitors to Defining Scandinavia by pre-registering. Admission is valid all four days of the fair. Admission tickets provides entrance to Defining Scandinavia, the children's fashion fair CPH kids and the fashion fair VISION as well as shuttle busses between locations. Admission tickets can also be purchased at the entrance of the fair for 250 DKK incl. VAT.

Press Release: Defining Scandinavia shuts down the physical exhibition platform

Over the last two seasons, the market for fairs has changed. This is partly due to the general market we operate in, which is marked by the aftermath of the financial crisis, but it is also due to new initiatives, as well as the further development of existing physical exhibition platforms.

Defining Scandinavia acknowledges that the market cannot accommodate three physical fairs. This is due to several reasons: for one, the range of buyers is not expanding, and, at the same time, many exhibitors are already present on foreign fairs, making it difficult to attract international buyers to Copenhagen. We sense that many exhibitors have different priorities, deselecting the physical platform. Instead, the exhibitors meet up with buyers in showrooms or online. Additionally, it is now a reality that a vast majority of the exhibitors, which Defining Scandinavia wishes to engage, focus on different markets.

The vision for Defining Scandinavia was to raise the bar for the ‘Design, Interior & Living’-industry – something we feel we have accomplished. Now, the time has come for new initiatives!

Effective from January 2014, we have therefore chosen to shut down the physical exhibition platform.

Thank you to all who supported our fair. You have not seen the last of Defining Scandinavia.
