📍Dornier 228 operations: Engine rigging
Engine rigging is the process of hooking up engines to an aircraft’s body and is an essential part of installing the engines. Well-rigged engines helps to keep the response from each engine identical whenever the levers are operated. This helps to lessen the pilot's workload.
It is a very tedious work that requires years of experience and to be familiar with the aircraft maintenance manuals (AMMs).
Thank you to all aircraft mechanics in ensuring flight safety and making flight smooth for all of us. Amanda McGrath is a aircraft maintenance engineer at Summit Air, in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories.
