At Balos Lagoon. 📍

I admire people who are able to take the most perfect pictures in the most perfect outfits in almost any kind of weather. For me, it seems like an impossible task.

For instance, the day trip to Balos requires a minimum of 12 hours. So I had to make sure I had enough water to stay hydrated, I had a swimsuit, just in case I decided to take a dip and a million different things.

The weather is almost always extremely windy and you have to have your shades on to avoid the sand being blown into your eyes. Most importantly, there is hardly enough time to see everything the place has to offer to think about outfit choices.

So here I am, wearing a swimsuit with some good old denim shorts and a shrug to protect myself from the sun. But still, I had hell of a time!

Am I the only one who thinks this way?

At Chania, Crete. 📍

I had intially planned to visit Chania as a day trip on my trip to Crete. But as soon as I stepped into the city, I knew I had to extend my stay. I ended up spending 3 nights at the city.

The place hosts the ambience of an old-time city with a bustling atmosphere. The walks along the meandering alleys of the old-town, sunsets by the lighthouse, and the delectable food will stay in your heart for a long time.

But most of all, I was impressed with the welcoming locals. They were some of the most friendly people I have ever met. You will feel safe and comfortable having conversations with strangers. 💙

At First, Grindelwald. 📍

A stunning cable car ride takes 25 minutes to reach First from Grindelwald base station. This cable car is one of the highlights of the Jungfrau region as it opens up a spectacular panoramic view to the surrounding peaks.

A host of mountain activities like paragliding, trottibike scooter rides, and the thrilling First flyer ride awaits you at the top. Alternatively, you can also hike the entire region for amazing views and meet some friendly cows.

First also hosts one of the most thrilling cliff walking platforms in Switzerland, the Tissot cliff walk. This picture was taken at the edge of the cliff walk. It is nothing less than walking amidst clouds and of course the views are breathtaking.

The most beautiful village in the world. ♥️

Grindelwald is often called the most beautiful village in the world. It is one of the most quaint and peaceful places I have ever visited.

This village is best explored on foot. Walks along the lanes of this specacular village will transport you to another time. ♥️

When you visit Switzerland, you are entitled to a public transport pass. Whether it is a Hotel or an Airbnb, the host is obliged to give you this pass free of charge along with a map.

When we were staying in Interlaken, we freely explored the entire area with this pass alone. In fact, the trip to Iseltwald was also included in this pass.

So, remember to ask your host for this pass and explore the local area freely when you visit Switzerland.

Did you know there are almost 7000 lakes in Switzerland? A lot of these lakes are nestled amidst mountains creating a dramatic scenery.

My favorite lakes were 1. Lake Geneva 2. Lake Brienz 3. Lake Thun 4. Lake Constance and of course the beautiful 5. Lake Lucerne.

This picture was taken beside Lake Brienz. It is perfect for a picnic by the lake or a long swim in the summer. 💙

P.S. For CLOY fans! This is also the filming location of Crash Landing on You! This is the exact place where Ri Jyeong Hyeok played the piano for his brother. ♥️

At Iseltwald. 📍

Iseltwald is a tiny village on the shores of Lake Brienz. It is just a short bus ride away from Interlaken.

We went to enjoy a sunset by the lake and witnessed one of the most stunning sceneries in Switzerland.

Another reason for us to visit this place was because of my favourite K-Drama, Crash Landing on you. This is one of the dreamiest locations from the series. ♥️

The Chapel bridge is one of the most famous landmarks in Lucerne. In fact, we hated the place because of crowd on our last visit.

However, it was completely empty this time. So, we admired the rain-drenched Lucerne city as we took shelter in the beautiful bridge. It was a one of a kind experience.

Rainy day at Lucerne city. ♥️

We arrived in Lucerne in a ship from Weggis. It was fine on the way there but started to rain as soon a we got down.

Luckily, we were carrying our rain-coats and put them on in the ship itself. However, it was raining so heavily we could hardly see a thing.

Once we reached, we ran for shelter to the only place we knew of in Lucerne. The Chapel bridge. Of course, I decided to take a photo in the rain.

At Rigi, the queen of mountains. ♥️

Rigi is one of the most scenic mountain excursion in Switzerland. The entire mountain is widespread and has a gentle slope which makes it a hiker's paradise.

However, I found the train rides to and from Rigi Kulm (summit) even more exciting. There are two trains that take you to Rigi from Vitznau (red trains) and Arth-Rigi (blue trains) respectively. I would recommend you to ascend in one direction and descend in another.

Alternatively, you could also try the thrilling Cable car from Rigi Kaltbad station until Weggis and take a ship to Lucerne. The view of lake Lucerne from this cable car is just spectacular.

A mountain trip to Stanserhorn has everything the word quirky would constitute. It is known for its old time funicular which was started in 1893. 🚋

It was originally started in 3 sections. In fact, the first section of the funicular is still running in all its glory. However, the second and third sections have been replaced the open-top, one of a kind CabriO Cable Car. 🚠

But best of all, the entire journey to Stanserhorn is managed and operated by a bunch of friendly old grandpas who always have a smile on their face. One of them even let me stand on the driver's area during the trip. ♥️ 😊
