⛰️🇸🇰 Another beautiful adventure beyond the borders of Moravia!

This time, together with colleagues, we escaped into the stunning mountains of Slovakia for a proper hiking day full of fresh air, breathtaking views, and good energy. 🚗💨

300 km roadtrip, mountain trails, local atmosphere, and moments that remind me why I truly love discovering Central Europe. ❤️

Even outside of guiding, exploring hidden places, nature, and authentic experiences is a huge part of my life — and exactly the spirit I try to share with my guests during every tour. 🌍✨

Lednice is one of the most stunning destinations in the Czech Republic, a centerpiece of the Lednice-Valtice Cultural Landscape and a UNESCO World Heritage site often referred to as the "Garden of Europe."

🏰 A History of Fortune and Power
The grandeur of Lednice is rooted in the complex politics of the 17th century. The Liechtenstein family acquired the immense wealth required to build such an estate largely through fortunes seized from Czech noblemen following their victory at the Battle of White Mountain in 1620. Lednice was essentially a lavish gift they bought themselves with those spoils.
In the mid-19th century, the original Baroque manor underwent a dramatic transformation. It was given a complete makeover in the "Windsor Gothic" style, resulting in the structure we see today: a shameless flaunting of fabulous wealth. It stands as a defiant statement against the notion that the French Revolution had ended high-living for the European aristocracy.

The Landscape and Architecture
The estate is surrounded by the largest English landscape park in the country. This incomparable swath of green is famously sprinkled with Romantic "follies"—decorative structures designed to surprise visitors as they wander the grounds.

* **The Castle Greenhouse:** This monumental iron and glass structure is open year-round. It overflows with exotic plants gathered by an army of botanists who traveled across the Americas to bring rare specimens back to Moravia.
* **The Minaret:** Constructed at the turn of the 18th century, this Moorish-style tower brings a distinct "whiff of Morocco" to the region. At 60 meters tall, it offers a panoramic view of the entire landscape for those willing to climb its steps.
* **Janův hrad (John’s Castle):** A romantic "fake" ruin built as a hunting lodge, situated on the banks of the Dyje River and accessible by foot, carriage, or boat.

The area is exceptionally flat, making it a paradise for cyclists and walkers. Well-marked trails connect the main castle to more distant monuments like the Temple of Apollo or the Three Graces. The Brno “lake”

is just a short trip from the city center—about **20 minutes by car** 🚗 or a **25-minute tram ride** 🚋 (Line 1 to Přístaviště). It’s the easiest way to swap the city streets for nature 🌲.
Here is what you can do once you arrive:

The Boats ⛴️: A fleet of quiet, electric ferries runs regularly. It’s a peaceful way to get across the water or visit Veveří Castle without the noise of a typical engine. Few times a year parties are organized on the boat.

On the Trails 🏃‍♂️:There’s a solid network of paths around the lake. It’s flat enough for an easy walk or a jog, and popular with cyclists 🚲 looking for a quick escape from the city.

Swimming & Leisure 🏊‍♂️: You’ll find plenty of grassy spots to jump in the water. If you prefer to stay dry, you can rent a paddleboard or a pedal boat 🚣 at several points along the shore.

Food & Fire 🍺:There are bistros everywhere serving cold beer and classic lakeside snacks. For a DIY meal, use the public BBQ points🍖—just bring your own charcoal and food.

Fishing 🎣: If you have a permit, the quieter coves are great for spending a few hours with a rod and reel.

Local tip:Walk the trail to the castle, then catch the boat back to the main dock (Bystrc) to watch the sunset from the water 🌅.

This journey from Český Krumlov to Brno turned into a perfect little day trip instead of just a ride 👇

We started with a comfortable door-to-door pickup, no stress, no rushing — and thanks to our special entry permit, we finished right in the historical center of Brno, exactly where it matters most.

But the best part? We didn’t just drive straight through.

📍 First stop: Hluboká nad Vltavou Castle
We spent around 1.5 hours walking around the castle, enjoying the views, taking photos, and having a relaxed coffee. Definitely one of the most beautiful spots on this route.

📍 Second stop: Třebíč
Another 1.5 hours exploring this charming UNESCO town — quiet streets, unique atmosphere, and a completely different vibe from the typical tourist places.

✨ What this trip showed again:
• It’s not just about getting from A to B
• Door-to-door service makes everything smooth
• Private ride = full flexibility (we adjust to your pace)
• No luggage stress
• Hidden gems along the way make the journey part of the experience
• And of course, arriving directly in Brno center without any restrictions is a game changer

In the end, what could’ve been just a transfer became a relaxed travel day with real experiences.
