Did you know San Sebastián wasn't always the cosmopolitan hub it is today? In the late 19th century, it was a quiet fishing village... until the aristocrats discovered the "therapeutic" power of sea bathing.

Enter the Hotel Maria Cristina.

Opened in 1912, this wasn't just a hotel; it was a statement. Designed by Charles Mewes (the genius architect behind The Ritz in Paris and Madrid), it instantly became the place to "see and be seen" for international high society.

Today, it remains the Grand Dame of the city. With its enviable views of the Urumea River and Belle Époque grandeur, it is still the only place to stay for a true luxury experience.

🌸 May & June: The "Sweet Spot." Best weather (15–20°C) and the city is in full bloom. Perfect for The Milestone’s garden vibes.

☀️ July & August: The "High Energy" season. Best for the rooftop bars at The Hoxton, but book early—these spots fill up 6 months in advance!

🍂 September: My personal favorite. The summer crowds are gone, the "Dandy" style of Mayfair is in full swing for Fashion Week, and the weather is crisp.

❄️ November/February: The "Insider's Secret." This is the best time for budget-friendly flights and maximum VIP upgrades at luxury properties.
