To streamline border procedures, the National Immigration Administration of China has launched an online arrival card system for international travelers starting from November 20.

According to the National Immigration Administration, international travelers can submit their entry information online before arrival through the NIA’s official website, Government Service Platform, the “NIA 12367” mobile app, WeChat (Alipay) mini program, or by scanning a QR code.

For travelers who are unable to complete the online arrival card in advance, entry information can be submitted upon arrival at immigration inspection sites at all Chinese ports of entry. Travelers can do this by scanning a QR code, using on-site smart devices, or filling out a paper arrival card.

Individuals who do not need to fill out the arrival card:
Holders of China’s Foreign Permanent Resident ID Card;
Holders of a Mainland Travel Permit for Hong Kong and Macao Residents (Non-Chinese citizens);
Travelers holding a group visa or those eligible for group visa-free entry;
Passengers transiting directly within 24 hours without leaving the restricted area of the port;
Passengers entering and exiting on the same cruise ship;
Individuals entering through designated fast lanes;
Foreign staff of exit-entry transport vehicles.
