It's so sudden! Amazon's annual sales of hundreds of millions of accounts have been blocked
It is understood that a top seller in Amazon last year sales of more than 100 million US dollars (about 700 million yuan) "MetroDecor", due to failed to deliver verification postcards, Amazon was shut down the account.
As detailed on the forum by MetroDecor, the account had to be re-verified as required by the Consumer Protection Act. Amazon sent a postcard containing key verification information to the seller's company address, but this crucial postcard was accidentally lost in the mail, resulting in MetroDecor unable to complete the verification process on time.
In the face of the sudden situation, the seller of MetroDecor took urgent actions and submitted numerous appeals and communications through Amazon's case system, but they failed to get the expected solution. In the end, his account failed to pass verification and was directly closed by Amazon.
After several unsuccessful attempts to file a complaint through the case system, MetroDecor posted a plea for help on the seller's forum, hoping to find a solution.
For this matter, some people in the industry found an Amazon official news - in May this year, Amazon officially launched the "Account status protection Plan (AHA)" worldwide, which is to provide more solid account protection for sellers who perform well in professional sales plans. Under the program, eligible sellers who experience an issue that could lead to account deactivation can avoid account deactivation as long as they respond proactively and resolve the issue within 72 hours.
But the case of MetroDecor reveals that even with such high sales and accounts that appear to qualify for the AHA, they are not enjoying the protection they deserve. This makes people question whether the AHA program can effectively protect the rights of sellers, or just stay at the level of publicity.
Many sellers expressed doubts, as a super seller with annual sales of more than 100 million, MetroDecor should enjoy more personalized and efficient services, including having an exclusive account manager or paid manager for daily docking and emergency response. However, at the critical moment, such advanced services did not appear, resulting in sellers isolated in the crisis, unable to solve the problem in a timely and effective manner.
Some industry veterans pointed out that if the information released by MetroDecor in the forum is true, from an economic point of view, the closure of its account has undoubtedly brought immeasurable losses to it. It is estimated that the loss of sales in just one day can be as high as $300,000 or more, not to mention indirect losses such as reduced algorithmic traffic allocation due to the inability to continue serving customers. And that's not even counting the long-term negative impact on MetroDecor's brand image and consumer trust.
As of press time, the relevant official replies and messages have not been consulted.

With the second half of the Amazon autumn promotion, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Black Five & network one, Christmas and other peak season promotion is about to open, these situations will indeed affect the seller's inventory rhythm and preparation mentality to a certain extent, especially the Amazon platform, accustomed to adjusting its policies and regulations on the eve of each promotion. Therefore, sellers must follow up the relevant situation in a timely manner, solve the problem as soon as possible, minimize the impact, and at the same time do a good job of self-examination to avoid more serious consequences caused by violations of the account.
