This week, we're recognizing Cody White, our Foreman / Equipment Operator, for his dedication and leadership over the past 19 years with Malcolm Excavating.

Cody started with us as a labourer and worked his way up through hard work, experience, and commitment to quality. Today, he oversees field crews, coordinates daily operations, schedules jobs, and still jumps into the equipment whenever he can.

When he's not on the job site, Cody enjoys spending time with his wife Beckie, their boys Nixon and Dax, and their 16-year-old Boston Terrier, Dahlia. Whether it's fishing, biking, or practicing soccer and hockey with his boys, family time is what matters most.

One thing Cody wants our customers to know:

This week, we’re proud to shine the spotlight on Greg Evanitski — better known around the workplace as “Father Float”! Greg has been an important part of our team for the past five years, bringing dedication, leadership, and a strong work ethic to everything he does.

Greg currently serves as our Float Division Supervisor, scheduler, and AZ driver, helping coordinate daily operations while also staying hands-on in the field. During the winter season, he plays a key role in snow removal operations, helping ensure our customers continue to receive dependable service no matter the conditions. His willingness to step in wherever needed and keep things moving smoothly makes him a valued member of our team.

Greg originally joined the company as a Float AZ Driver and has grown into his current leadership role through years of hard work, commitment, and experience. His positive attitude, reliability, and dedication to both the team and our customers do not go unnoticed, and we truly appreciate everything he brings to the company each day.

Outside of work, Greg enjoys riding his side-by-side, travelling, and relaxing with a cold beer. Family is a big part of his life, and he loves spending time with his wife Michelle, their children and grandkids, and their family dog, Milo.

When asked what he would like customers and clients to know about our team, Greg summed it up perfectly: “We’re dedicated to serving our customers and always working hard to get the job done right.”

This week, we’re proud to shine the spotlight on Ben, one of our hardworking and dependable DZ Drivers!

For the past 4 years, Ben has been an important part of our team, helping keep projects moving smoothly throughout the year. During the construction season, he operates a dump truck and supports crews on job sites, and in the winter months, he helps keep roads safe and clear through snow plowing operations. No matter the season, Ben consistently shows up ready to work and takes pride in doing the job right.

Ben started with our company in the same role he continues in today, and over the years he has become a valued and trusted member of the team. His strong work ethic, reliability, and positive attitude do not go unnoticed. Team members and customers alike appreciate his courteous and friendly approach, and the care he puts into his work every day.

Outside of work, Ben enjoys spending his downtime relaxing and recharging, as well as spending time with his son, daughter, and granddaughter — who are very important to him.
When asked what he would like customers and clients to know about our team, Ben shared: "We’re courteous, friendly, and take pride in our work.”

Meet Marty Allin, a valued member of our team with 16 years of experience and dedication.

Since joining the company as a DZ Driver, Marty has been a consistent and dependable presence in the field. In his role, he operates dump trucks and tractors and is an important part of our winter operations through snow plowing—helping ensure projects continue to run safely and efficiently in all conditions.

Over the years, Marty has demonstrated a strong work ethic, reliability, and a commitment to doing the job right. His dedication has made him a trusted and respected member of our team, and we truly value the experience and consistency he brings to our operations every day.

Outside of work, Marty leads an active lifestyle, enjoying weight training, mountain biking, cross-country skiing, traveling, and riding his motorcycle on nice days. He also enjoys spending time with his significant other, Libby. Together, they enjoy kayaking and spending quality time with their fur baby cat, Luna.

Meet Scott Nowe, one of the dedicated team members helping deliver quality work every day.
Over the past 9 years, he has grown from starting out as a labourer—with no prior industry experience—into a skilled Equipment Operator and a key part of our site management team. In his role, he operates a variety of heavy equipment, playing an important part in ensuring each project is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
His journey reflects a strong commitment to learning, hard work, and continuous growth—qualities we truly value and appreciate as a company. His dedication and reliability make him a respected member of our team and an important part of our continued success.
At the centre of it all is his family. He enjoys spending time with his wife, Rebecca, and their yellow lab, Dax, valuing the balance between a busy work life and time at home.
When he’s off the clock, he makes the most of every season—golfing and boating in the summer, and playing hockey through the winter. He also enjoys great food and a well-crafted cocktail.

Employee Feature of the Week: Craig Cattrysse

If you’ve worked with our team over the years, there’s a good chance you’ve crossed paths with Craig Cattrysse—one of the steady, experienced voices helping bring projects to life from start to finish.

Craig is both an Estimator and Project Manager, a role that puts him at the center of customer relationships and project ex*****on. With 20 years at the company under his belt, he brings a depth of knowledge that only comes from hands-on experience and long-term dedication.

In simple terms, Craig works closely with current and prospective customers to understand their needs and provide clear, detailed quotes. Once a project moves forward, he shifts into coordination mode—handling logistics, ordering materials, arranging utility locates, and ensuring all required documentation is in place. On top of that, Craig also takes on the important responsibility of serving as the company’s Health and Safety Coordinator.

His journey with the company started two decades ago in a very different role. Craig began as a general labourer, working with a hand shovel—an experience that gave him a ground-level understanding of the work that still informs his approach today.

Outside of work, Craig values time with his family—his wife, daughter, son, and their Golden Retriever. He also enjoys traveling and staying active year-round, playing golf in the summer and hockey in the winter.

When asked what he’d like customers to know, Craig keeps it simple: our team genuinely cares. No matter the size or scope of a job, there’s a shared commitment to delivering the best possible results.

Craig’s story is a great example of growth, dedication, and the kind of team-first mindset that defines who we are.
