Just a reminder: 50% tariffs go live on August 19th unless something changes. we need time to get your orders across the border (and to figure out how we're dealing with the aftermath).

Wow. Where do I begin?

Our last post was an April Fools joke that George urged me to do. Cute...

Afterwards, IG went quiet. Our tiny team put our heads down and worked: editing 6,100+ pages of PDFs, putting out daily fires, manufacturing stickers, wrangling the warehouse into order, shipping your orders, building production documents, organizing SKUs and pick numbers, and proofreading for the 100th time, just in case.
..Then came the announcement about a 50% tariff on goods like our planners, going live August 19th. Sleepless nights and panic ensued. Suddenly I was talking about it on live TV while half-asleep (thank you Ian Hanomansing for being so patient and professional!).

➡️ So here's the most important thing: if you're ordering from the US, please get your orders in by August 9th so our small team has time to race them across the border. After August 19th, yes, there will be changes.

➡️ Are your pre-orders okay? Yes. You pre-ordered before the tariff was announced. You're the same people who helped this business grow... I'm not about to forget that.

We have always manufactured our notebooks and planners across Canada. I love my team, my manufacturing partners, my suppliers, and you guys. We are just... people on the same page: beautiful, sustainable notebooks and planners, made close to home.

And I've always seen Made in Canada and Made in USA as the same movement: local manufacturing, real jobs, real sustainability, on both sides of the border. That's still how I see it.

By the way: when I sent the initial emails out and did the interviews, your support and kindness was overwhelming and gave our team a much-needed morale boost.

Frankie Couture is a Vancouver-based illustrator and painter using expressive line, layered texture, and vibrant colour. They explore humour and the soft magic woven into the natural world.

Luisa J. Preissler is an artist & illustrator with 15+ years of experience, known for fantasy book covers and Magic: The Gathering. Lately she has fallen in love with gouache landscapes & florals!

🐦 Huntson Billing
Huntson Billing is a multi-media artist experimenting on wood and clay. Inspired by medieval fantasy, critters, and PNW flora.
