A GMC Journey A renovation of a different kind, for us anyway! We would like to invite you along on our 1978 GMC Journey. We have no idea where this will take us.

Who doesn't love a mystery tour? We are Ian & Louise Smith, home at last in Ontario, Canada. The passed 28+ years have taken us across the globe on multiple relocations, we have been on the most amazing journey, some of which have included new homes and renovations to follow. One of the most extensive and oldest restoration projects we undertook was a 500 year old barn conversion in the French co

untryside of Normandy. We feel our renovation skills and experiences have given us the confidence to tackle something new and challenging. Our latest adventure brings us home and on a new journey. We don't yet know where this will take us, but for now it begins on our driveway. We have hopes and dreams of West and East Coast North American travels, in the not so distant future. Join us on our journey, with A 1978, GMC Motorhome.

Our first couple of road trips were a great success. Only one minor technical hitch that, thankfully, Ian was able to fix. It's been a smooth ride, alot of onlookers and thumbs up. We really enjoyed everything about our trips. Hoping we can squeeze in at least one more, before the snow falls!

Made a very chilly trip to Bluevale, Ontario, yesterday to pick her up. As it’s -26 C outside today, it will be a few days before we get back to working on the interior.

It was a smooth drive, apparently, (I was following behind). But Ian was doing a steady 90 kph on the 401 - 407 😁. The heating system needs working on though 🥶 😆

She doesn’t look much different, apart from shiny new wheels and alloys. There has been extensive work done on the mechanics and safety of the vehicle. When we do get out on the road we’ll be confident that we won’t be spending hours or days at the garage, looking for parts!

We don't have to leave Ontario, we can enjoy the spectacular colours of fall, right here in our own province. Muskoka, Algonquin Park and along the Niagara Escarpment are all "must do's" on our bus travels.
