Meet this month's Hostaway Employee Spotlight: Anais Lorenz Fernández, our Director of People Operations based in Madrid, Spain!

Anais's favorite part about being on the Hostaway team? The way we work. We don't just accept things because "that's how it's always been done." We challenge each other, we rethink how we do things, and we're not afraid to break the mold when something isn't working. And even with all that energy, it never feels chaotic. You really feel that everyone is pushing in the same direction.

🌱 The skill she has grown the most? Flexibility. Coming from a startup background, she was already used to fast paced environments, but Hostaway has taken that to another level. Things move quickly, priorities shift, and you need to adapt. It has pushed her to get more comfortable with ambiguity and make faster decisions, even without the full picture.

👑 The skill she is most excited to keep developing? Leadership. Every team is different, and every stage of a company demands something different. In HR especially, the ability to influence others, guide conversations, and get people on board even without direct authority is something she wants to keep sharpening.

✈️ Favorite travel destinations? Jordan, Sri Lanka, and Kenya. Impossible to pick just one!

🎨 Most unique vacation rental? An Airbnb in Menorca in the Balearic Islands where every wall was covered in paintings and pictures. It felt almost like staying inside an art gallery. And the host left tons of free wine for guests!
