Happy International Women’s Day to all of you. 📣❤️

Every leader has a “first day” story.

Before the leadership roles, before the titles, before the confidence that comes with experience, there was a woman showing up, learning, doubting, growing, and choosing to keep going.

This International Women’s Day, we’re celebrating some of the women of OWLE by looking at where they started and where they are now. The journey between those two moments is filled with perseverance, courage, and countless days of pushing forward even when it wasn’t easy.

To every woman watching this: take a moment to reflect on your own first day. Look at how far you’ve come.

And to the women who kept going on the hard days, who challenged the status quo, and who continue to break ceilings for the generations coming behind them — thank you very much 🙏🏼💙

Your impact reaches further than you know.

As part of Information Management Week, we're highlighting Melissa and Monique, who lead the Criminal Records Unit.

They partnered with members of IT and pioneered the use of Robotic Process Automation, saving countless labour hours and creating significant efficiencies to support their members in Information Management. Their innovative work also earned them a nomination for the 2025 Ontario Women in Law Enforcement OWLE Innovation Award.

Lynn Posluns is the Founder, President, and CEO of Women’s Brain Health Initiative, the
only organization dedicated to protecting the brain health of women, caregivers, and
families. Since the charity launched in Canada and the U.S. in 2012, Women’s Brain Health Initiative has made tremendous strides in raising awareness about the inequity in brain aging research for women, in funding that research, and in creating compelling preventative health evidence-informed education programs so there is a greater understanding by the public of the best ways to prolong their cognitive vitality.

Lynn has held several executive positions within the Retail and Fashion industries and,
throughout her career, has raised millions of dollars for many philanthropic causes,
focused primarily on the healthcare industry.

Lynn has received numerous awards for her work in philanthropy and giving back to
the community, including the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management’s
Top Ten High Achieving Women Award, Rotary International’s Paul Harris Fellowship
Award, an Honorary Doctorate by York University and most recently Canada’s Top 25 Women of Influence award.

In December 2021, Lynn was appointed as a member to the Order of Canada for her
contribution to research on cognitive health and aging through the founding of
Women’s Brain Health Initiative. The Order of Canada recognizes the achievement of
outstanding merit and honours people who make extraordinary contributions to the
nation.

Lynn is a speaker at our upcoming training day. Get your ticket today!
