A short video commemorating the rich history of ATU Local 113 and its hardworking members who have been keeping Toronto moving for over 113 years.

This video commemorates the 113-year history of ATU Local 113, the union representing Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) workers. It highlights the dedication, skill, and unity of the workforce that keeps Toronto moving.

Key themes include:

Determination (0:57 - 2:34): The union's history of fighting for the right to organize, fair wages, and safer working conditions, including securing the first eight-hour day for transit workers in North America.

Skill (2:36 - 3:57): The diverse expertise of its members, from operators and mechanics to electricians, who are highly trained to maintain and operate one of the continent's most efficient transit systems.

Family (3:59 - 5:04): A look at the union's civic-minded nature, from supporting members during the Great Depression to today's charitable work, medical research funding, and efforts to fight child hunger.

Unity (5:06 - 6:20): A history of political advocacy, protecting workers' rights during labor disputes, and standing up against threats to job security and public transit services.

Collective bargaining without the right to strike is just collective begging.

The government is proposing new powers to end legal strikes and force workers back to work.

That takes away one of the most powerful tools workers have to win better wages, safer workplaces and a fair deal.

So, what happens next?

Greg Walton is sure I'm going to be fired.

Will Greg Walton finish his career with a full pension?

Why is Greg Walton more important than the other members of our local?

If Greg Walton signs fake charges, wouldn't that make him the fraud?

Imagine saying something like this to a member you claim to serve, and tagging Ottawa Police Chief Sloly in the exchange.

Maybe he should stick to being an Ottawa Sens fan and seat filler, and let the adults sort out the rest.

If he signed up, signed in, and signed the dotted line, he can sign the retraction, and settlement agreement once law and order is restored.

Canadians don't treat others like Greg treats his members.

"I love how you feel you're still part of this union. I'm going to finish my career here with a full pension while you are going to lose everything when they fire you. I just hope they go after you legally for all this money you'rre making. " - Greg Walton March 24, 2020. ATU 279 cc Next Stop Transit: Operator First & the Ottawa Police Chief.

"Sun in Your Heart" is the first single from Rainbow Body, archival recordings of Ram Dass chanting ancient mantras, reimagined by John Pattern into original electronic music.

▶ Stream "Sun in Your Heart"
▶ Rainbow Body (full album) arrives November 13

On "Sun in Your Heart," Ram Dass chants the mantra

"Aditya Hridayam Punyam Sarva Shatru Vinashanam,"

and introduces you to its meaning and practice: sit with the sun, let it into your heart, and let the warmth build until the light pours back out of you.

John Pattern builds original electronic music around the recording, so an old teaching arrives with a pulse you can move to.

The official music video, animated by Adrian Carey, stays with that same image, weaving footage of Ram Dass with clips of people of every age and walk of life, meditating, embracing, and smiling. Through it all, Ram Dass offers us the reminder at the center of the practice:

"keep the sun in your heart."

In this video, Angus Wright expresses strong dissatisfaction with his union leadership, specifically targeting the president, Clint. Below are key statements from his message:

On his advocacy:

"What if we invited everybody to the union meetings, what if we followed our collective agreement and followed the Canadian Human Rights Act and protected all of our members instead of just making [__] up as we go along" (0:46 - 1:03).

On the conflict with the president:

"We have a president who's been playing super dirty, dirty, dirty Union politics for so long and he is really, really not intelligent" (1:24 - 1:36).

On police involvement:

"He literally called up his buddies and got them to arrest me" (1:16 - 1:19).

On his determination:

"I'm going to make fun of this one all the time and I'm going to trigger this one, everything I'm about is because it triggers the [__] out of this president" (4:02 - 4:14).

Direct address to the president:

"Dear Clint, this isn't attacking you personally, this is attacking the fact that you're the sh*ttiest president of a union a union has ever seen and we all deserve better" (9:10 - 9:21).

In this video (0:00 - 11:01), Angus Wright addresses his ongoing conflict with the president of his union, whom he identifies as Clint.

Key points from the video:

Union Advocacy: Angus claims he is being unfairly targeted for advocating for transparency, adherence to the collective agreement, and compliance with the Canadian Human Rights Act (0:46 - 0:57).
Conflict with Leadership: He alleges that Clint has misused his power, including involving police against him, rather than addressing member grievances (1:07 - 1:24, 3:25 - 3:50).
Personal Impact: Angus describes himself as a permanently disabled man who is in the process of rebuilding his life despite what he characterizes as ongoing abuse (7:46 - 8:14).
Calls to Action: Throughout the video, Angus encourages fellow union members to get involved, attend union meetings, and witness the leadership firsthand (2:43 - 3:00, 5:50 - 6:01).
Direct Address: He speaks directly to Clint, criticizing his leadership style and the management of union politics (9:09 - 10:31).

According to Angus Wright, he was arrested after the president of his union, Clint, called the police on him (1:07 - 1:24). Angus claims that this action was taken in response to him speaking out about union transparency, requesting that all members be invited to union meetings, and demanding that the union follow its collective agreement and the Canadian Human Rights Act (0:46 - 0:57).

The speaker claims there is an ongoing conflict with the union president, Clint, centered on several issues regarding union leadership:

Transparency and Representation: The speaker advocates for inviting all members to union meetings and following the established collective agreement and the Canadian Human Rights Act (0:46 - 0:57).

Abuse of Power: The speaker alleges that Clint uses his position to "make up rules" to cover up personal agendas, rather than protecting members (1:01 - 1:03, 2:23 - 2:36).

Police Involvement: The speaker contends that Clint has called the police to have him arrested rather than engaging in proper union communication or addressing grievances (1:07 - 1:24, 3:27 - 3:32).

Leadership Critique: The speaker directly criticizes Clint's management style, characterizing his decisions as "dirty union politics" and asserting that the membership deserves better leadership (1:24 - 1:30, 9:16 - 9:21).

Someone really should hold Angus accountable for hurting his Presid...
